I put this new coat to the test this morning in NYC where it was windy, and the temps were a chilling, but not extremely cold 38 degrees. This coat is neither warm, nor heavy. I tend to run hot in most coats, walking about with the zipper opened to let my body heat escape and avoid sweating. The cold winds easily penetrated this coat. I'm close to 6ft tall and the coat doesn't fully cover my rump. The hood is oddly massive, and I always wear an XL in hats. ... show more

This coat is well made, fits neatly as expected and looks great. The hood can be unzipped if you live in more temperate climes. My only issue with it is still a major disappointment: the two main pockets on the front have no side opening, just a top flap with a snap. A coat meant to keep you this warm ought to have a place for you to easily and comfortably slide your hands in as you walk - as opposed to having to stuff them in via the top flap. Also, there is a decent-sized inside pocket but without any kind of security flap. They might easily have done this like they did with the arm pocket, which has a velcro flap. ... show more
