Features

  • An effective working area of 15.7 x 15.7 x 3.1 is large enough for most daily wood carving projects. The redesigned Z-axis carriage makes swapping a spindle easier. Adding more screw holes on the non-all-in-one Z-axis carriage allows you to install the larger spindle higher for extra overfeed height.
  • New Steel HSS Frame - all new redesigned frame structure, each axis is composed of two 16mm Steel HSS linear tubes and a lead screw motion drive, dual Y axis rails, and all metal frame. This new high-rigidity structure ensures the stability and accuracy of the milling machine.
  • Still based on open-source Grbl v1.1, the 4040-PRO CNC router has stepped up to more powerful but silent Toshiba TB6S109 drivers with 32-bit chips. Upgrades include extended function ports like a Air Assistance Pump Port, and MPG Port. The updated motherboard for customers who want to use wireless module (B0D1BZW5LY) is available to order, making connecting and enjoying wireless features easy.
  • All main parts are pre-assembled and it just takes about 15 minutes to finish the whole machine assembly. The spoilboard is combined by two pieces of MDF boards. Each MDF board could be replaced individually. You dont need to replace the whole spoilboard when a panel gets damaged.
  • The 4040-PRO CNC machine is supplied with 42mm and 52mm spindle mounts. The additional 65mm (B0BRZSY475), 69mm (B0BRZSVVK3) spindle mount, and other upgraded accessories are available to order.   • It supports adding the 4th-axis rotary module kit. The 4th-axis kit enables your 4040-PRO desktop CNC to carve from different angles and positions or with the right software full 3D rotary caving.

I purchased this machine on cyber Monday in 2023. I was looking for a CNC that had more stability, accuracy and repeatability than the belt driven machine I currently had at the time. I wasn't disappointed. The packaging was about the best I've ever seen, assembly was a breeze and it was square and level right away. The screw drive and linear rails make this quite rigid and reliable. I used it for about ten months when it stopped working. After contacting customer support and describing the symptoms it was determined that the power supply went bad. They sent me a new one free of charge which solved the problem completely.     • Buy this not a Fox Alien rubber Band CNC

I LOVE THIS MACHINE! This is the best machine for the money on the market period. Here is my story. First I bought the Fox Alien rubber band CNC which was a huge mistake. I was busy with other things so it sat there unused until I got to it. I found out the motherboard was bad, they replaced it and quickly, they even gave me their new 1/4" bit set as a sorry for the issue, which was nice. Then I tried to cut 1/8" cast acrylic plastic and it would not cut it! I added 5 passes to cut 1/8" plastic, and it still would not cut it. Meanwhile I am emailing them asking how to fix this. Their rubber bands would skip and destroy every cut I tried to make. I finally gave up and they would NOT give me my money back on their product. So I bought the Genmitsu 4040 Pro for less money. No rubber bands, just solid metal screw drive. Same exact stepper motors and this thing is a beast. I surfaced my cutting board since the Fox Alien destroyed it. It cut is so smooth it is like a mirror finish. I love this machine. It will cut and it is so accurate, I love this machine. Yes it is not as fast as the Fox Alien, but who cares, it actually works, it cuts and anything. If it fits into the machine it will cut it. Obviously you have to work within limits but this is a beast of a machine. I love it period. Yes I relocated the power to underneath it so I did not break it off, not sure why they have it sticking out the side, but who cares. Came very nicely packed and easy to set up. Closer to 30+ minutes with the hand tools provided. Speaking of the tools provided. The screw driver is bent like someone used it as a crowbar. Iv reached out twice to genmitsu about the stuck left rail. And heard nothing. As im still available for a return with amazon if i dont hear back from genmitsu itll be on it way back to amazon possibly for the foxalien instead. Update: after nearly 2 months of very slow emails back and forth, they provided a new machine. Jamie was a very nice representative and easy to work with, but don’t expect quick responses. And don’t expect this machine without many modifications to do what the youtubers claim it can do. ... show more

Easy assembly Extremely helpful, professional and knowledgeble people working there. They deserve five stars because they worked hard to get me through some problems. I particularly enjoyed working with Cassie, who was patient, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. She understood my issues and took care of them.     • Great hobby machine
Bought this to dip my toe into CNC. I've used it mostly to carve catcall trays, trivets, and cutting board stands using small bowl bits and end mills. Nice to turn this loose on a job while I do another things in my hobby shop. Assembly took me about 30 minutes. Tools to assemble where included, as well as some 30 degree vBits and some spare parts like extra homing switches. Documentation was easy to follow and all parts in the included container were labeled. The machine feels sturdy. The included spindle has ER11 collet, and I think the included collet insert was 4 mm? I purchased a 1/4 collet insert so that I could use bits that were more available to me. I've since upgraded the spindle to a Makita 701C router, which it handles just fine, just have to be aware that this isn't going to cut at 200+ inches per minute- i think max speed is like 78 inches per minute and I hesitate to push it that hard. For what I've used it for, it's been great. It's now a fixure in my shop, I've built an enclosure for it, added the dust boot, and plan to add the hybrid spoil board in the future. 4 stars because I don't see many spare parts for it on Sainsmart's website. Things like backlash nuts will eventually wear out and I'd prefer to go to the manufacture to get the replacements instead of hacking something else in there. Love this little machine! I like that it has lead screws instead of belts, seems a bit stronger, great for a CNC machine. Customer support is great too! I've had a few questions and they got back to me promptly and were very helpful. I already bought two of these and will continue to buy more as the business needs. They also have a bunch of add-ons for the machine. I have upgraded routers on mine and an x-axis extension on my machines. Highly recommended. ... show more
