Features

  • Structure Stabilit: Stability is enhanced with a new steel HSS frame. Each axis features two16mm Steel HSS linear tubes , lead screw motion drivers, dual Y-axis rails, and a all metal frame. The Z-axis utilizes linear rails instead of rods and T8 lead screws.
  • Compatibility Upgrade: The 4040-PRO CNC machine is supplied with 42mm and 52mm spindle mounts, compatible with original spindles, 300W spindles, and our laser module. Additional 65mm (B0BRZSY475) and 69mm (B0BRZSVVK3) spindle mounts are also available for separate purchase.
  • Various Upgrade Accessories: Supports a 4th axis rotary module kit(B0C581H2B3), allowing the 4040-PRO CNC to carve from various angles or perform full 3D rotary carving with the right software. Enables a Wi-Fi module(B0DK54JHS6) for mobile control. Also you can upgrade the XZ-axis(B0DHGN4ZYH), strengthen the screw material, and improve stability and speed.
  • Easy Assembly: Main parts are pre-assembled, enabling setup in about 15 minutes. The spoilboard consists of two replaceable MDF boards, so you only need to swap the damaged one instead of the entire spoilboard.

  • Great little hobby machine
I purchased this machine on cyber Monday in 2023. I was looking for a CNC that had more stability, accuracy and repeatability than the belt driven machine I currently had at the time. I wasn't disappointed. The packaging was about the best I've ever seen, assembly was a breeze and it was square and level right away. The screw drive and linear rails make this quite rigid and reliable. I used it for about ten months when it stopped working. After contacting customer support and describing the symptoms it was determined that the power supply went bad. They sent me a new one free of charge which solved the problem completely. I can't say enough good things about the machine and level of support I received. ... show more

  • Inexpensive but good quality CNC router
I do wood carvings in maple and wanted an inexpensive but good CNC router and after reading a number of reviews, chose the Genmitsu 4040-Pro. It's easy to set up and has a good design considering the price. I replaced the included spindle with a Dewalt 611 for additional power/ability to use larger bits. I've used it to make at least 100 different carves and have been able to make extremely finely detailed, large carves. I was able to get good support from SainSmart when I had an issue, and can happily recommend this to wood carving and engraving enthusiasts (I have also used it for acrylic, wax, and polyu foam, but haven't tried metals, nylon, or delrin) with a limited budget. ... show more

  • Awful Build Quality
I bought this CNC with an X-axis extension kit, uprgraded spindle, and a laser attachment, only to discover not only do you have to disassemble the entire original x-axis (I mean literally every little component, piece by piece) so that you can just swap out the guide rails and thread, but virtually every screw I had to remove stripped on me instantly, using the tools they provided. I spent two hours disassembling it, only to have the final two screws holding the thread in place to strip so badly I can't even get them out using an extractor. Why they don't just sell different sizes of this CNC, with the longer axis already put together, is beyond me. But to then use the cheapest, low quality screws possible, is just awful. I'm probably going to have to send this whole thing back. ... show more

  • Great product, but keep your expectations in line.
It won't cut steel, but that's an extremely unrealistic expectation - no fault of the machine. Cuts plastic and wood with ease, but you'll definitely want to upgrade to a true spindle or palm router for soft metals. I've had mine for a while and built a full enclosure, wired up a relay power module to control my palm router and dust extraction via the onboard controller, and I love the machine. I cut 6060 aluminum regularly, so it's very capable. ... show more

  • Great hobby machine
Bought this to dip my toe into CNC. I've used it mostly to carve catcall trays, trivets, and cutting board stands using small bowl bits and end mills. Nice to turn this loose on a job while I do another things in my hobby shop. Assembly took me about 30 minutes. Tools to assemble where included, as well as some 30 degree vBits and some spare parts like extra homing switches. Documentation was easy to follow and all parts in the included container were labeled. The machine feels sturdy. The included spindle has ER11 collet, and I think the included collet insert was 4 mm? I purchased a 1/4 collet insert so that I could use bits that were more available to me. I've since upgraded the spindle to a Makita 701C router, which it handles just fine, just have to be aware that this isn't going to cut at 200+ inches per minute- i think max speed is like 78 inches per minute and I hesitate to push it that hard. For what I've used it for, it's been great. It's now a fixure in my shop, I've built an enclosure for it, added the dust boot, and plan to add the hybrid spoil board in the future. 4 stars because I don't see many spare parts for it on Sainsmart's website. Things like backlash nuts will eventually wear out and I'd prefer to go to the manufacture to get the replacements instead of hacking something else in there. I've had it for 3 months now and that is my only complaint. ... show more
