I really like these rice bowls. I have used them since 1986 when I lived in Taiwan., Where they were used at nearly every meal for rice and for other foods. A serving spoon that is about 4 inches long is used to serve from the cooking pot into the individual bowls. Then one uses chopsticks to eat them. These are very very nicely illustrated. Designs on them are good. We have used bowls of this size since 1986,. They have occasionally broken as our children began to use them; the children are now in their early 20s and mid 30s. Breakage now occurs only accidentally so we do not need to replenish our supply very often. Our Supply has dwindled so I bought these as a Christmas present for my wife. These are nice little bowls with attractive patterning; easy to use; easy to wash. However, because the shape of the bowls is a little too round at the base and/or the foot is too shallow, they will not properly stack upright. Instead, the upper bowls will stack at weird angles to each other looking sloppy in the cabinet and potentially creating a tip hazard for a stack of them, particularly if you stack more than one set. ... show more
