This light does not look cheap, picks right up on motion, and, most important, IT SHUTS OFF when it is supposed to!!! I keep looking for places in my house where I could place another light. I just love them with their bright (but not too bright) light. There is no need to worry about wasting batteries, because, as I said, the light shuts off promptly when motion is no longer detected. I have 1 on each side of my closet that turn on when my doors open. I’ve had these for 2 weeks and so far so good. 1 wasn’t enough, but 2 work really well to help balance the light. Make sure you have plenty of batteries to keep them running consistantly. Since hardwiring a permanent fixture wasn’t an option this is the next best thing. It would have helped if the light included a template to facilitate installation. I looked and found nothing. I made my own to keep from making a mistake when drilling holes. An installation template makes a great product even better.

    • Perfect light
I have a small cabinet area next to my fridge which has a black microwave on top. However, there is no lighting in that area. Going from a white microwave to a black one, I never considered the buttons on the black microwave also being black and being difficult to see. I had been searching on and off for the perfect light that would fit on the wall at the end of one side of the microwave but fit beautifully when the upper cabinet door opened. This light is perfect in size, dimension, location, and I love that it has a motion sensor which works fantastic. It took me only a couple minutes to screw into the wall.     • Great Lighting - Lacks Length
I was surprised on the range of light and how sensitive the sensor is. With it being a semi-high foot traffic area, and with its sensitive range I was replacing batteries every two weeks. This light needs to be in a location where you barely go or low foot traffic. Only then will it last more than a week or two. The range on it is pretty good! It kept coming on when my wife and I would walk to the bathroom at least 35 - 40 feet away and activated the light. ... show more

    • Saves a ton on 'always-on' hallway and bathroom lights
I've a section of the house that doesn't get much natural light. The hallway is dark and the bathroom has no windows. So in the past, I've walked past these areas only to find that the kids went through and turned on the lights and walked out without turning the lights off... and these lights will have been on for hours at a time. I've given up on getting the kids to flip off the switches of the lights. They'll get it once they start paying their own 'lectric bills. So we compromise in the coolest of ways. These guys are light-savers (heh heh yes I threw a Bad Dad Joke in there). I've got about four of these set at strategic areas in the hallway, round the corner, and in the toilet area of the bathroom. They are set to turn on when motion is detected. So the kids and I get light only when we need it, and not when we've left the area. It also gives us the kind of cool futuristic feel of the house reacting to us as we walk through it. The illumination is just enough to provide guidance without blinding us. Perfect for the mid-night trips to the bathroom. Each unit uses 4 AA batts so there's a little environmental concern here, but they don't chew up the batts very often. And a trip to the local hazwaste centre eases my conscious somewhat.     • Love this light!
Got several of these lights, one for the hallway where, if the hallway light is on, even low it keeps me up all night. This unit goes off after 45 seconds and comes on in plenty of time to light my way if I have to get up at night. A word of warning if you have pets: mount the unit at about 5 feet off the ground. The unit in the hallway was mounted at about 3 feet and the animals set it off...luckily when I'm in bed they are in there with me and don't roam around at night but especially cat owners may have issues if they mount it too low. The second unit was mounted at 5 feet and neither the dog or the cat set it off. It was really easy to install and the light is adequate for lighting up a dark hallway or a dark area at the bottom of stairs to the basement. I like the unit so much I stopped using my hallway light completely and now we all sleep much better without the annoyance of the hallway light blaring in our rooms and yet we have safe lighting if we need to get up.
