I can keep one in the bathroom without it hurting our eyes when we walk in there in the middle of the night. It's a perfect, soft light just to light your way and gently see into the dark. I love that they turn on and off with a sensor that senses when it's dark and the light needs to be on. These last an extremely long time since they are LED. You literally just plug them in and don't have to think about them for years. I bought these two to put in my travel bag, they are so helpful when you are traveling. There are many LED night lights available on Amazon. This one is UL-listed. For electrical safety sake, do not buy a product that is not UL listed (or listed by the equivalent Canadian or EU agencies). I'm happy this one has a photocell that measures the ambient light levels and turns this light on when it's appropriately dark, helps to save even more energy. One improvement I wish this had: the ability to dim the light level. It's somewhat brighter than I would like but still appropriate as a night light -- I 'd just prefer a tad lower light level. These nightlights are exactly what I wanted. They aren’t too sensitive, so they come on exactly when needed. The pictures are pretty accurate, and the light is actually warm. One warning I do have is that even though these are plastic, they will shatter if broken. We had an incident where my dog knocked something over that fell onto one of the lights, and the light broke into a ton of little pieces. Not necessarily a downside given that many nightlights are glass and therefore more dangerous, but something I deemed worth sharing. ... show more

Since they're a soft orange color, they avoid the "blue light" problem that can interfere with some folks ability to drift off to sleep easily. I bought these so that we would stop running into things after dark with the lights off and they are quite bright, so bright in fact that they actually DIM themselves from the light going back onto the sensor. Certainly not ideal for in/immediately around sleeping areas, but they are fantastic for lighting the way at night. UPDATE: Almost exactly 6 months in, the solder joint on the nightlight we were using (completely by itself with nothing touching it, I should add) failed, which caused it to flicker and stop working altogether unless wedged against something just right. For this reason alone I have to drop my review from 5 stars to 3 stars. ... show more
