  • Eats gas, loves a rich oil/gas mixture, but I love it.
Unfortunately the saw arrived with a fractured metal plate under the flywheel, which I was able to fix with a strong epoxy glue (Amazon did not wish to replace it or have it sent back). I have been very pleased with the saw, having completed more than 3 cords of firewood with it, and the repair is holding up! Starts easily, runs with power- but eats alot of gas! Still a good saw, no issues! ... show more

  • Using for light work
Only reason I purchased this was for camping trips and to down a dead tree in my back yard. So far it has been running with no issues. The air filter is pretty crappy so I'm looking into a replacement that works a little better, and the chain goes dull pretty fast but I picked up a decent one from a local store. Those are my only 2 complaints. 8/10. I don't know if this is a good option for anyone that is cutting and logging all day long but for my needs, this fits perfectly. ... show more

  • good saw for the money
I don't know how the saw will hold up but right out of the box it started good and starts every time with just one pull, cut some 20 inch hard maple with it and it has plenty of power and doesn't slow down even splitting the big blocks length ways, it is a little gas hungry but that is to be expected because of the power the saw has, it cuts faster than my 455 Huqvarna ... show more

  • 2 different problems with less than 2 hours of operation
Full Disclosure: I received a full refund from Amazon for this saw. The saw could not be returned after I put fuel into it to find out if it actually worked or not. The chain tensioner broke after about 10 minutes of use. I contacted Supmix and they mailed me an entire new sprocket cover with chain tensioner. Thanks to Yun He at Supmix for taking care of this. I also found replacement tensioners on eBay. The saw ran great long enough for me to cut up the trunk of a Maple tree that came down in a storm. I let the saw sit for about 2 weeks and found that it wouldn't start. My 8 year old refurbished 14" Ryobi sat for the same length of time and started on the third pull. Fuel is getting to the carburetor, but the engine doesn't even sputter. The kill switch works fine. No spark using the plug that came installed in the saw or a brand new replacement supplied with it - even with kill switch disconnected. Seems like the ignition coil is shot. Found one on eBay for 9 bucks and am waiting for it to arrive. Will update. THE SAW HAS NOT EVEN RUN FOR 2 HOURS. UPDATE: Replaced the ignition coil and the saw started right up - in the usual cloud of smoke. Other issues with the saw: At a 25 to 1 fuel ratio this saw puts up a smoke screen around you while it is running. Keeps the mosquitos away, but not very pleasant to breathe in. The saw gets a little heavy when carrying it into the woods for clearing trails. . Another review mentioned the chain loosens frequently. I also had this experience. I noticed that there is a lot of movement in the chain tensioner, much more than any other chainsaw I have used. Perhaps this explains why the tensioner broke on a brand new saw after only a few minutes of use. I placed a few small washers over the end of the tensioner bolt, fitting them into a space in the sprocket cover and this eliminated the movement. I have spent way too much time troubleshooting/repairing this brand new saw. Amazon provided me with a full refund, but, I would have preferred to have paid full price for a saw that I don't have to wonder if it is going to work when I need it, especially when I am at my camp 100 miles from home. Don't think I'll be buying another one of these cheap chainsaws ... show more

  • Impressive Saw
I was looking at a Stihl and instead opted to try this out. I was impressed with everything about it. How easy it is to start, the mixing jug for the 25:1 2 cycle mix, the file, wrench, multi tool, screw driver it comes with everything you need just about. It cuts very well and has a good amount of power. Don't question it, it's a great buy. What I would recommend to also purchase: An extra chain 2 cycle oil Bar oil ... show more

  • GOOD NEWS...NO NEED TO MIX GAS & OIL
I own a small 16" skil chainsaw, wanted something bigger and stronger, not for $500. Price was great for a 20" 62cc. It is a little heavier, but that gives you a little more control, not a negative. The Good News is, the first tank of fuel I ran through the saw, I used 50:1 premixed 93 Octane fuel. Started first time, zero problems. Mixing fuel and oil is so old school, in my experience, if you start off with the premixed, your saw should run fine, if you switch over, it might take a little time. "Important" If you follow the starting instructions....exactly.....your saw will start the first time. I'm witness to this, if you don't choke/pull 5X/put choke in/ do your own thing, it will give you a little trouble starting...just follow the directions. NUFF SAID.. ... show more

  • Check Sparkplug Gap
Soon as this chainsaw came in, I put it together, got the gas mixed, and tried to start it. It would not start, and I ended up flooding the engine. I removed the air filter cap, air filter, spark plug, cleared the flooded engine, cleaned the spark plug, and then I verified the spark plug was getting spark. There was no spark! I looked closely at the spark plug and found out that there was no gap. I took out the spare spark plug, and it also had no gap. I adjusted the spark plug gaps to the manufacture .065 spec, put one into the chainsaw, and resembled it. The chainsaw started up in 4 pulls. I cut 4 small Elm trees down with it. I have rated this chainsaw with 3 stars due to the spark plug gap issue and have not had the chainsaw long enough to rate it any higher. I will update my review later after heavy use. If you buy this chainsaw, check the spark plug gaps and does work on cutting down small Elm trees. ... show more
