  • Sturdy And Versatile
Style: 6 FT
I had never seen a rake with a 6-foot handle before, and didn't know how much I needed it until I saw this one. But then I realized how much easier it will be to rake under spiny bushes or hook a tree branch for trimming or just reach further into the work area. I really don't know why they sell the shorter versions--just get the long one and shorten / lengthen as needed. The rake seems to be sturdy, with welds to hold the toothy bar to the metal bows. The handle appears to be strong enough to stand up to normal use, but would probably bend fairly easily under prying stresses. I'm planning to attach the head with two bolts and/or apply a coating to reduce the amount of play between the rake head and the handle, as there is a bit of looseness there. Overall, a good rake of an unusual design that seems like it will fill a niche role in garden implements. ... show more

  • Compact storage, easy assembly
Style: 6 FT
The rake works well, though if the segments of the handle are loose, you may need to twist them just a little tighter. They don't really lock together, they twist together and the tighter you twist them, the tighter the connection is. I didn't have any trouble connecting and disconnecting them, but I did need to tighten them a bit more than I initially had. It doesn't take a huge amount of arm strength, but someone with weak arms may have difficulty getting the pieces together and apart. The rake works fine, it is a bit heavier than I expected, and it is plenty beefy for raking sticks, leaves, pine needles, and smoothing soil, which are the various ways I have used it to date. I like how easy it is to change the length of the handle, by adding or removing segments. I was able to find the perfect length for me, and for my kids of various ages. ... show more

  • It's more like a pick-your-length rather than an adjustable rake.
Style: 6 FT
This rake comes with a head and five handle segments that are each about 16" long. You screw together as many as you need to make the length hose you need. I am 5'5" and used the head and four handle segments to make a rake I am comfortable with, as shown in the first picture. I'll hang onto the last handle segment in case I ever need a super long rake. The head is sturdy and the tines just the right size and sharpness for a garden rake, in my opinion. The tines come with individual soft plastic covers to keep them from poking through the box and that are quite hard to get off. My only concern is with the hollow handle with four joints in it, whether it might loosen and get wobbly. Time will tell. I just had to share the warning on the outside of the box (second picture), which warned in TWO places on a not very big box "Dear customer, Please read the instruction manual of the product carefully before using the product." The third picture shows the instruction manual, a postcard sized piece of paper containing very little useful information, not even "Do not leave rake lying on ground with tines up". Fortunately this rake doesn't need many instructions. I recommend this rake. ... show more

  • Good for what it is
Style: 6 FT
This is kind of a weird concept. Not really sure why anyone wanting a rake would want one that comes apart. The handle is fairly lightweight, however it did take a bit of pressure to try and make it flex. That being said, this is definitely it going to be a high use heavy duty rake. If you’re looking for something that’s heavy duty and will take a lot of pressure on it to turn up the ground, I’d look elsewhere. In my case, as soon as I saw this I decided since it does come apart, this would be a great thing to keep in the camper. Every time we pull up to camp, I always forgot a take to clean up our spot a little before we set up camp. This rake will be perfect for that. Not a ton of use, and most will be light work. ... show more

  • Best rake EVER!!
Style: 6 FT
Fantastic design.. short or tall you can adjust it to fit you perfectly. It is super sturdy and the metal handle isn't going to rot like all my graveyard rakes have done. Hands down best rake we have ever used.. solid and super well made. Priced like a standard rake but so much nicer. It is easy to put together - just twist and tighten the sections to your own fit. Then you simply bolt the head to the handle (tools are provided). We put all the sections together and found it was too long for us but perfect for a really tall person. It is easy to just pull out a section to fit it perfectly to just about any adult. Rake is lightweight for how heavy duty it is. Well made.. well done... love it! ... show more

  • Overall good rake
Style: 6 FT
This rake comes with assembly required, but it is very easy and takes just a few minutes. It even comes with a couple of mini tools for tightening the screw. I put the rake together and immediately began using it for two solid days. I used the edge to remove weeds and raked out 3 cubic yards of mulch. It was a great test. Overall the rake held up really well. My only complaint (and one star) is that during hours of use I would occasionally have to tighten the rods back to a solid fit. I think as I used it I would loosen them. To tighten it's just a matter of holding and turning to tighten, so not a big deal but somethingyou would not have to do with a solid handle rake. The rake head worked fantastic and moved a lot of mulch and dirt. ... show more

  • It sure is what I would consider heavy-duty
Style: 6 FT
I call this type of rake a "rock rake" and over the years has been my go-to rake. Not sure what ever happened to mine. Last I saw, it was rusty, flaky looking, and the wooden handle did not look happy. This one is a godsend. Assembling it, I left off one of the sections, as I am 5 foot 4 inches, and it's perfect for me. Heavy enough to go through my rocky soil, but it's a comfortable weight to maneuver. What's really good is that the head gets affixed with a nut and bolt so that won't just twist off. I did not have any untwisting of the handle sections while using it. ... show more

  • Great rake
Style: 6 FT
Even though it break down, this is actually a really strong handled rake. It works great, and it's very impressive. I'm really happy with it.
