  • Fits perfect, but ask for help
Size: 16 Feet Color: Black
I did purchase this rubber seal to replace an old one already existing at my garage. The installation was easy, and I made sure I was lubricating the rubber as I was putting it in the rail... Ask somebody to give you a hand, since it's difficult to stretch the rubber as it goes and keeps feeding it in the rail so, sometimes, when you stretch the rubber, the other side was coming out of the rail because I was not holding it so, it's better one person stretches the rubber as it's being inserted then, the other person to make sure it's not coming out from the rail as the rubber gets into the rail. Other than that, it fits perfect, but if you want to save some installation time, grab a buddy and ask him to help with the task :D ... show more

  • Adaptable
My two-car garage door took a .25 p-bulb seal, but this was all I could find without going to a specialty garage door site. I unscrewed the channel that the old seal was in, installed the new seal in the channel (it was loose and wouldn't have stayed in as it was), then squeezed the channel down onto the smaller p-bulb with a mallet and a couple pieces of 2x2. I also found that sheet metal Vice Grips were handy to squeeze the channel as I went along. I was able to reinstall the channel with the new seal on the garage door with the help of a shop stand. I was concerned that the way the seal was shipped--flat--would make it difficult to get it to open up and seal properly, but when I closed the garage door the first time it naturally seated the way it was supposed to. Can't speak to durability, but my initial impression is pretty good. ... show more

  • Installation was a challenge
Size: 16 Feet Color: Black
The bead that runs in the track to affix this seal was significantly smaller than the original seal. A pair of channel lock pliers allowed me to squeeze the gap closed on the garage door so it would stay in place. The seal came coiled up, which made installing it difficult. Finally, the "sealing bulb" was compressed flat, so it acted as a sweep, and not a seal. ... show more

  • Marginal product for my door.
Size: 16 Feet Color: Black
This wasn't a great fit on a 20 yr old door. Did it fit yes. It was super stiff and packaged in a way that caused the whether strip to slip out of the j channel. In case your are wondering,...Yes, my garage door guy did the install. I had to call him back out to address the fit. We reinstalling the old one. ... show more

  • Two person job
Size: 16 Feet Color: Black
Excellent quality. Be sure to clean door track very well, so installation goes well. I used spray silicone spray on track generously and on bulb of seal. One person to feed bulb of seal into track and second person to hold and feed seal to person installing seal in door track. If the seal gets hard to feed into track, spray more silicone spray on door track and seal bulb. (that may occur about halfway into installation) Be patient and careful. Do not cut seal beforehand. If you do cut seal beforehand, you'll want to cut it longer than the door track by a few inches, or trust me, it'll be too short after installed. It's a good tough seal. After installation, your electric door may want to "hunt" when closed. Just assist it with a little hand pressure and it'll stop. (the new seal will take a little bit to "squash" down so the door will close and stop without "hunting") ... show more

  • Leaking in 1 year.
Size: 16 Feet Color: Black
One year later and it’s already got a leak. It was a hot summer, but should be able to get more than one season out of it. The previous seal was at least 10 years old.

  • Great for Genie doors, but needs preparation
My garage door tech recommended I buy this to replace the seal on the bottom of the garage door. Tips: When installing, spray the “P” rib with some lubricant. I think that a 50:50 mix of water and dish soap would work. I painted it lightly with canola oil. This made inserting a breeze. The strip comes tightly rolled. I actually bought 2 as I have a large door and a small door. I unrolled the large strip and installed it immediately. For the small door, I unrolled it, inserted a broom handle in the seal and left it in the sun for a day. Once installed, the small strip looks much better as it sits on the seal. The large door has the seal out in front, rather than sitting on the circle. ... show more

  • Direct Replacement
I purchased these to replace the 17 year old original ones on my garage doors. They were a perfect fit and seem to be doing very well after several months.
