    • Visually and functionally a perfect replacement for my old worn-out garage door keypad!
I needed a replacement for my worn-out garage keypad from Chamberlain. On my original keypad I would have to change my garage door code every couple years because the buttons became increasingly non-responsive as the keypad itself wore-out! I would cycle through codes that used different keys to even the quick wear that it endured. So the last thing I wanted to do was reward Chamberlain with another $50+ worth of my hard-earned money for a keypad that will last less than 6 years! So, I went searching for a universal aftermarket compatible keypad from a company that "had something to prove"...maybe they don't need to bank on planned obsolescence and repeat out-of-warranty purchases like Chamberlain does! This is your keypad - it's truly universal, and as a bonus it looks like my old Chamberlain model, and also didn't require drilling new holes in my garage as the original screw holes lined right up! It programs just like my old one and works just like my old one except that it's easier to press the buttons, and they work the first time you press them!     • Easy to program, works with our newer Genie opener
I was able to program this easily using the instructions in the box. The battery was already installed so hopeully it isn't too drained (I expected it to have a tab or something to keep it from any draw while stored or shipped). Once programmed and 2 screws later, it was ready to go. It does beep when you hit the buttons which may be able to be silenced but I'm not sure yet. I like that you can just hit the up/down button to close the garage but that's only within 30 seconds of having opened it with the code. Some keypads will always close the door with that button regardless of time passed. After 30 seconds, you have to enter the code again and the up/down button to close the door. It allows programming of multiple codes and and temporary codes which we don't need yet but it's a nice feature. So far, I'm happy with this item and would get it again for our other door when the time comes. ... show more

    • Works just like my Liftmaster keypad
An excellent clone and replacement for my aged Liftmaster keypad that recently began to be less than responsive...then again, it was a replacement that has been in use for over 10 years so not a bad track record. I have an older motor with a green learning button and was excited to get this up and running, and had no problem programming this. It programs just like the brand name version, and has the same footprint too. If you do run into trouble with the programming, there are plenty of YT videos out there to help searching for Liftmaster keypad programming or Chamberlain, as these keypads are all genuinely universal. While I only programmed it for a single door, like my Liftmaster, this too can support multiple doors, in addition to allowing you to program a guest code too that can expire after so many uses. It works well and is less expensive than the brand name, while serving the same purpose. ... show more

    • Difficult
This is much easier to add than a hardwired key pad. However, the battery came attached and dead. I replaced the battery and it took me several tries to pair it to my door but eventually got it. We used construction adhesive to attach to the house because we get a lot of wind and wanted it extra secure. I like that the battery access is from the front so you can permanently attach this if you want. I live in AZ so we're hoping it'll last a few summers in the 120 degree heat. ... show more

Programming Type1 The directions were good, but after several attempts to program I realized Step 4 (to exit programming mode, press the 0 button) should come after Step 6. It comes with everything you’ll need (2 screws) to attach to the garage door opening.     • Programs to Chamberlain and Liftmaster 8500
This remote was programmed to a Purple Learn button belt drive Chamberlain, as well as two Liftmaster 8500 jackshaft openers, and a Chamberlain MyQ jackshaft opener. The jackshaft openers do not have a Learn button on the units, rather it is on the wall remote. I used programming option "1" for the jackshaft openers. I have four unique PINs to open four different doors. It works for multiple doors. Instruction sheet is included as well as the opener's door inner surface having instructions. The instructions match up with the Chamberlain universal keypad remote, so if you have those, this sets up the same. ... show more

We have a LiftMaster that was manufactured in 1998 (Red Learn Button). This keyless entry was easy to install and the provided programming instructions were clear and concise. Installation and programming took less than 30 minutes. I like the fact that this product uses a 9v battery instead of the 12v battery in the original device. It’s important that buyers read the compatibility charts and verify that their particular opener is contained within these charts. I would recommend this product. ... show more
