This is just a beautiful addition to my dinning room. It replaces a bowl type light fixture that was 24 years old. Putting this fixture together was not too much of a challenge, but as mentioned in another review, the twisting of the wires and adding a nut could be a hassle. The hardest part is actually hanging the light. It really does require two people; one to hold the fixture and the other to wire it in the box and mount it to the box. I use a light stand to hold the fixture while working on wiring the box. The next issue I had was the chain. Much too long at 35" (shy of 1 meter). I only needed about 18" (about 1/2 meter). I shorten the chain but did not cut the remainder off. I will do that later. Until then, I bunched the chain up in the provided sock and it does not look good, but works. After a few days I will adjust the sock and cut the remainder of the chain so it looks nice. Once the chain has bee cut, there will be too much sock remaining. I plan on putting in a twist as I move up the sock to make it appear shorter and not bunched up. By the way, there are cheaper (price wise) fixtures out there, but I chose this one and yet I don't know why. LOL ... show more

I keep buying this type of light, because it’s cost effective and transforms a room well. They are not easy to put together. Each arm has its own black and white wires to thread through the light. Once together, you have to tightly wrap 8 of each wire together (which aren’t all close to each other) then jam it into the base without any of the wire threads slipping out. Since it’s cheap materials, it’s easy to not get ALL of the wire threads, which can be dangerous. Use caps and tape. So take your time assembling and it should go up nicely. I assembled the chandelier as soon as possible and the results were outstanding. this is a light fixture that is quite beautiful and certainly looks and performs as a very expensive item. it took about forty minutes to assemble and test it to ensure that it would light up when plugged in. this fixture will be installed in our new dining room over a new French provincial country dining table and chairs . The picture shows my replacement for the missing nut. All other parts were there. The instructions are abysmal English. Furthermore they don’t tell all the steps you have to take. There is one diagram only. No parts list. The stripped wires inside the bottom part of the light were too short and the wire nut too small to hold all the wires safely. You must check that there are no bare wires slipping out to avoid shorts. The mechanism to attach to the ceiling requires at least two people ( and two ladders). A good design would attach the chain to the ceiling mount point and then cover that with the visible cover. Instead you must attach the cover directly while holding the light up too. Thats more than I could do alone. So. Improve the design a bit. Make it easier to construct. Redo the instructions. In the end, it looks beautiful though ... show more

I wanted a fancy hanging solar powered light fixture for my yard, but I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted for a reasonable price. So I ordered this chandelier thinking it might be a possible starting point for making my own. The price was certainly right. Bingo! It turned out to be exactly what I needed. The electrical wiring was very easy to remove, I used the kind of solar lights that are made to stick in the ground and strung some beading to add pizazz. The light posts were easily shortened with a pipe cutter and they fit over the lightbulb sockets perfectly. I’ve included pictures of how it looks in the day and at night. Time will tell how it stands up in the long run, but it seems very solidly made so I am optimistic. ... show more
