  • Best controller I have ever owned. Better than Xbox or any other brand.
Color: G4pro
I have been gaming since even before the Atari 2600. Most recently I have been PC gaming through Steam on my 65 inch flat screen TV in the living room. I Tried the standard Xbox one controllers but hated that on the base model you still have to use batteries. The Gamesir is fantastic in every category. 1. you never need batteries, it has a USB-C charging port and comes with a charging cable. 2. It holds a charge all day and into the next day ( I charge mine at night, but even if I forget it still gets me through hald a day ). It has an amazing grippy feel and overall great feel in the hands. Nothing to install on a windows PC, works right out of the box in seconds. The dongle snaps into the controller so it wont get lost ( a small detail that is greatly appreciated by me ). The rumble is very strong. The controls are accurate and I have never noticed any input lag. It worked out of the box with the steam deck and steam OS, the controller was recognized as an xbox controller and worked flawlessly. And its got a way to attach your phone and play all your android games or do game streaming. I mean what else could you ask for in a 50 dollar controller. Trust me folks, I am as cheap as they come on non essential items. I have tried budget wireless controllers . Some were ok, some were down right awful. I have had controllers that required me to reinstall the software every time I wanted to use them. I have bought used xbox controller and then added an aftermarket battery pack and charging dock. Safe yourself a lot of hassle, spend a few bucks more than a budget knockoff controller and get this exact one. I immediatley ordered a second one once I realized how great it was. I ordered one for my best friend this morning since he is broke and seemed to really enjoy mine. I believe this will connect to just about any computer or device. I have read about connectivity issues but never had a single issue with this controller, not even for a single millisecond. ... show more

  • A Mostly Good Controller Brought Down By Connectivity Issues on PC
Color: G4pro
This review pertains to PC usage of the Gamesir G4 Pro 1 Wireless. General Ergonomics: The G4 Pro 1 and Xbox One controller are comparable in weight and shape. The soft rubber grips are noticeably less slippery in hand than a standard controller. The G4 Pro has a cutout for its included rectangular Micro USB connector vs. the Xbox ones Micro USB connector which should be a massive step up in durability, if at the expense of flexibility in cable choice. I don't expect the charging port to be the point of failure on the G4 Pro 1, a fate all too common for Micro-USB devices. Wireless usage on PC requires used2.4 GHz dongle vs the Bluetooth support on new Xbox One controllers or integrated support for surface devices. Older Xbox one controllers require a considerably sized dongle while the G4 Pro 1's is tiny. The integrated phone clip conveniently prevents you from losing it, especially useful for laptop gamers on the go. Face buttons: The standout feature of the G4 Pro 1 are its customizable face buttons, which can be swapped around for both Microsoft and Nintendo oriented face button layouts. I found the button slightly difficult to remove using the notch on the side, but had no issues with buttons staying in place, even when attempting to dislodge them as they are held in place magnetically. Notably, the North, South, and especially the rightmost face buttons have considerably more travel than that of the Xbox One out of the necessity of the customizable layout. The Xbox one controller's face buttons are sloped gently along the controller's contour which results in a slightly more comfortable resting position and buttons that are easier to rapidly press. The G4 Pro's rightmost button by comparison is wobbly. It's by no means a deal breaker, but it's something you may think of consciously while mashing the B (or A) button. A note on durability: the labels of the G4 Pro 1's face buttons are a white layer visible in a very shallow cutout in the black plastic button. This isn't likely to erode from hand oils like printed labels on cheaper controllers, despite not being 3 dimensional letters floating in clear plastic like first party Xbox controllers. Analog Sticks: The G4 Pro's analog sticks are well suited for most games and gamers The G4 Pro joysticks of an average length and are within easy reach of the Directional pad and face buttons. Both sticks are concave which is well suited to most games and players who drag the analog sticks (eg. FPS players) rather than using the very tip of their thumbs (eg. Fighting games). The joysticks are coated in a soft material and I didn't see any early signs of wear. Both sticks are easy to click and didn't exhibit any stickiness on L3 and R3 inputs. Directional pad: The G4 Pro 1 unfortunately features an Xbox 360 shaped circular directional pad. While not as wobbly as that of the 360, the raised shape of the directional pad on the circular piece and raised lip around the D-pad makes it difficult to hit diagonal inputs, while the sloped cross shape makes the difference between cardinal directions and diagonals feel indistinct. It should be a non-issue in games that use the D-pad as 4 auxiliary buttons, but games with more action oriented precision (eg. fighting game inputs) may be less satisfied. Start and select button: The start and select buttons on the G4 Pro 1are especially mushy, with a long travel and no definitive click. This is unlikely to be an issue with most games, but prospective buyer beware. The start and select buttons are much closer to the left analog stick and X (or Y) button respectively, but the improvement in ergonomics may not result in a meaningful speed increase due to the aforementioned. Shoulder buttons: The Gamesir G4 Pro 1 features even stiffer shoulder buttons than Microsoft own series X controllers. They must be pressed from their outward edges with the inside, rather than the tip of the user's pointer finger, which some owners may find awkward. I found that it was less seamless to go smoothly from pressing a trigger in a shoulder button and vice versa. Occasionally i would find myself accidentally releasing my hold on the shoulder button, which was a non concern on the standard Xbox one controller. In games that have the shoulder buttons set to actions that are held for extended lengths (eg. sprinting), this may be more troubling. The controller can be placed on a flat surface without worry of pressing the trigger buttons. Triggers: The triggers on the G4 Pro 1 were pleasant to use other than the aforementioned shoulder to trigger transition. The rounded edges on the triggers ensure they are always easy to depress. The debossing of the button labels is rarely ever felt and non-bothersome. For games that used the triggers as digital buttons presses(eg. Nintendo Switch native games) you will not experience issues with sensitivity or precision. Gyro: The gyro is not available in PCs X-input mode and is thus not covered in this review. Wireless connectivity: While all of the above can be adjusted to, the real killer of the G4 Pro wireless' value is its questionable or nonfunctional wireless connectivity for PC users. After about less than 2 weeks of use, the G4 Pro began to encounter issues with being recognized as an Xbox controller by Windows when used wirelessly. Then after a reset, the G4 Pro encountered issues preventing it from connecting to its wireless dongle entirely. While the wireless connectivity was functional the controller was able to hit its advertised 12 hours of battery life. The controller would go to turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity. Immediately upon wakeup after the holding the power button the controller would be ready for use. While the device can still be used in wired mode with its included 3 foot cable, this constitutes a poor value for the price vs other wired X-input controllers available for PC. Given stated issues with wireless connectivity, I can't recommend this device for windows PC Users. Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS functionality was untested, which is my sole reason for not writing off this controller entirely. ... show more

  • The closest controller to Xbox quality
Color: G4pro
To get straight to the point - Things I like: 1. The controller had quite a solid and sturdy feel straight from the box. 2. The rubber grips on both sides of the controller made the controller easy to us for a long time period even when my hands were starting to get a bit sweaty. 3. Easy to use, the controller was very easy to use and switching between modes was just as easy 4. The battery performance of the controller was amazing, sometimes I would go an entire day constantly using it without the need to recharge. Things I didn't like: 1. The Gamesir App keeps saying that the controller needs a firmware update however this was virtually impossible to install because it would reach halfway and then randomly fail. 2. Sometimes the controller would randomly change its name so when connecting via Bluetooth, I always have to double check that to ensure that the controller actually connects. 3. When using in Bluetooth, sometimes there is a random lag in response or no response from inputs on the controller. (It was not a regular occurrence). 4. There is limited mobile games that support controllers and it would require third party apps in order to create custom key mappings for the G4 Pro which can be tedious (but I guess that's a controller problem in general). 5. There are no M1, M2 buttons and other customizations Conclusion: The controller works fine (even without with firmware update) and at this price I would definitely encourage anyone to get this controller for your gaming experience. ... show more
