First of all I am a G Shock collector and love my watches. This being said I can give you my opinion of this Black and Gold limited edition G Shock. I usually like to wear the duller colored G shocks, for the simple reason that I am hard on my watches being an engineer. But this edition takes it to a whole new class with its super black shine, and beautiful gold and silver glimmering in the heart of the watch. I am able to wear this for nicer occasions and dates without going outside of my G shock collection. It is a pimp'n watch that gets a lot of compliments and attention from people who appreciate watches. Only down side is that I wish the display was brighter along with the LED. I was so anti G-shock for so long because I'd see people flaunting them as if they were expensive, extravagant time pieces and I'd think it's just a Casio....It so happened that the week after I swore I'd never buy one, I needed a watch for work and I got on Amazon to look through watches with digital displays specifically for military time. While scrolling through, I saw a bunch of cheap watches that, yeah were digital watches but they didn't speak to my taste. Then I spotted this beauty! It's rugged! Really feels like nothing can damage this thing! It's beautiful, comfortable, and functional! Pretty easy to learn and has SO many features! Stylish yet rugged. I use mine for traveling for work. A little hard to read due to a lack of contrast due to all of the gold features. Bought one for a nephew and he wore his throughout an oversees Vietnam trip building houses for needy. Love G-Shock watches! Have owned them for years. I am constantly getting compliments from my fellow passengers on this watch when I fly whether it be coach or first class! Also passes through the metal detector without having to take it off. I purchased this on october 14 2011 @ 144 on amazon. This watch is epic, its flashy but not over the top douchey, I've gotten more compliments than I can recall, its badd ass, shiny and gold- what more does one want? functionality wise in the dark or at night its hard to see since the illumination was done so stupidly but honestly, this watch is that great that even a major con like that still makes this watch great. if the price hasn't risen since i first bought it I would definitely buy a second to use when the first one breaks down eventually ... show more

I bought this watch for my husband for Christmas as a work watch. I was hesitant b/c I wanted something that would look nice but also something that was VERY durable and would not look beat up after a few wears. My husband wears his watch all the time including in the shower. He did get a little frustrated once before in changing the time after our 4yr old got a hold of it and pressed buttons. The watch was stuck in daylight savings time, but after reviewing the manual that came with the watch it was an easy fix. So much better than I expected it to be. Its an anniversary gift for my husband but he hasnt seen it yet. I opened it to check and to be honest the pictures on the internet don't do it justice. A fine piece to add to his collection. The plus factor is that you can wear it dressed formally or casually, i think it would look great both ways. Bought this watch for my special someone for Christmas they had been looking for this version of this watch for awhile and couldn’t find it and of course amazon had it for me. The price was great and shipping was only 2 days. This really set the tone for the watch box I gave him for Christmas. I tell everyone check Amazon before paying retail price 😫 and get Prime so you get your free 2day shipping. Oh oh back to the watch!! I've had this watch for 2 years now and it still looks brand new even after the hell I've put it through. It isn't very user friendly but since I only use it to tell time that's ok. Now to the best part the look of the watch. It looks amazing honestly I still get compliments every day I wear it hell I get more compliments on this watch than I do wearing my $1200 citizen echo-drive.
