  • Excellent
This G-Shock is excellent and good

  • Initially, I'm THRILLED
12/1/22 - I've only had this watch a week. So far I love it. It's built like a tank and looks magnificent. I love all the great features and really appreciate having so much info readily accessible. SIZE: Everyone told me it would be too thick and bulky and I should stick with something smaller. I haven't worn a watch in decades, yet I don't agree with them. Aside from staring at it constantly because it's so gorgeous I hardly notice it's there. I worried it'd get snagged on my pants pockets and/or get in the way when I'm typing but I'm not seeing a problem yet. FEATURES: I love having a digital compass and backlit display at my fingertips. I chose a twin sensor model most for the thermometer though and it seems to be unreliable because it's greatly affected by body temp. I feel they should warn you that you'd need to remove the watch for 30 minutes to get an accurate reading. COMFORT: Another concern I had was the band material. I worried it would be uncomfortable and cause my wrist to sweat. I'm happy to say neither is true. I find the resin band to feel quite nice. It feels rugged and the texture keeps the watch form twisting as much as metal bands do. Kudos to Casio for plastic wings (back protectors) that make the back of the watch where the band attaches feel comfy. DURABILITY: I haven't beaten mine up much but I have banged the crystal on hard objects accidentally and was amazed it didn't break. I also scratched it against metal a few times and it's still in mint condition. The band is held on like a tank tread, wow. I can't imagine how you could put enough force on this watch to break the band; it feels indestructible. I hate the typical spring pins, so I'm glad to see such beefy connectors. OVERALL: I had a hard time dropping this much money on a watch, but I believe I'm getting my money's worth. I bet this is the last watch I ever have to buy. ... show more

Have this watch now for just over 3 weeks and I'm loving it. Looks awesome! Super lightweight for it's size and I love the large numerals at the 12, 3, 6 & 9 o'clocks. This makes it very easy to read. Although it's big watch it wears very well and you never feel it on your wrist. The compass works well but the watch needs to be out of your wrist for the temperature readings to be accurate. This is acceptable as your body heat will affect the reading. And at an amazing price! If you are contemplating on buying this watch I recommend that that you do so. You won't regret it. Shout out to Amazon for the super quick delivery! I received the watch a week earlier than expected. Just over 2 weeks to South Africa! Wow! ... show more

  • Awesome Watch, NOT So Awesome DEALER!
I initially ordered the watch from Amazon's "market place" to later realized that their products are defective (speaking from my experience). After refund and re-purchase, the end result was that both watches weren't working properly. Following my last refund, I decided I still wanted the watch so I went to Macy's. I ended up getting it for a great price that included their warranty. The watch itself is AWESOME, hence the rating. Super reliable and durable. Plus, the military green color scheme makes it one of the better looking watches out of my collection. This thing is a tank, taking up most of my wrist (I'm 6'2 medium build) and I don't mind it. This watch could take the hits of a "everyday watch" and still looks good enough to wear for a night out. Event though I had a bad experience with Amazon trying to buy the watch I still gotta give credit to Casio's G-shock GG 1000. It's a wonderful time piece. I say save yourself the headache and try scoring this watch at your local department store. You'll save yourself the drama and some money. ... show more

  • Holy ****, this watch is tough.
I never wore watches, ever. Simply because I would kill them within a month. As a contractor, outdoorsmen and general bumblefluck in the garage, I would destroy any watch. Until now that is. Ive had this thing for 6months now and it still keeps perfect time and looks almost new. I've worn this running jackhammers, hard riding on 4 wheeler trails, pouring concrete, sanding drywall, grouting tile, dunked it in the solvent tank in the shop more than once, in creeks and rivers lots more than once and still it lives. Ive subjected this poor watch to every nasty vibratory, fine particulate environment conceivable and it still works perfectly. All the things you'd expect from a quality tool. It has some nice features too, timer is handy, compass is passable enough to get you pointed in the general direction. I only have two very minor complaints, I wish the LCD portions would light as the face does when illuminating and welding splatter sticks to the crystal. It's easily chipped off but still. Oh, and its machine washable. ... show more

  • Unable to see digital readout at night.
This watch is a bit pricey at $200+ dollars and not that much different than the Casio Aviator G Shock which is somewhat smaller but has all the features of this watch, including temperature and the compass...Don't get me wrong I really like my G Shocks, I own a half dozen and they are very stylish and durable . My biggest complaint with ALL of my Casio G-Shock (duel time) watches is the fact that Casio is apparently unable or unwilling to simply backlight the digital readouts on any of them...Yes they all have a light that pretty well illuminates the hands but does absolutely nothing to illuminate the digital time and date. Smael has a cheap knockoff of this watch for around $10 to $15 that doesn't have many of the Mudmasters features but at least they do have the digital readouts nicely backlit...If Smael can do this on their $10 to $15 dollar watches why cant Casio do it on a $200+ dollar G Shock? ... show more
