I was nervous about purchasing this after reading reviews. This thing was so easy to set up and use. Considering this was only about $35, it was definitely worth it! The instructions were a little confusing. You do have to have the device plugged in to a power source for it to work. Also, the little receiver chip must be plugged into the game drive for the controllers to pair with it. After the initial setup, it's now just plug and play. ZERO STARS!!!!! Do not waste your time or your money on this product it is no good!!!! I bought this item as a Christmas gift for my baby nephew and it only worked for 2 months (just enough time for the return policy to conveniently expire). When I reached out to Amazon they told me I needed to talk to the seller since the return window has closed, however there is no way to contact them and it just redirects you to Amazon customer service which is absolutely no help! I finally managed to get a hold of someone after nearly A WHOLE MONTH of dealing with this issue and the best they could offer was half of my money back in promotional credit. Which is b.s. because if you can do a partial refund why not give back the full $40 ? It makes no sense at all! I am beyond disappointed with Amazon and their ridiculous policies & failure to appreciate and take care of thier paying customers. ... show more

(Original review below) - We had to send back our original product for a replacement. The second item works SO MUCH BETTER!!!! The first one was slow to load games, and this one is NOT. We have not found many games that don't work on this one either. Word to the wise - unplug from the power source after 3 hours or so, the device gets hot, and it WILL fry your TV. It has worked, daily, for a full week now, so regardless of if it breaks again, we've received the rental value. Other games not mentioned in previous review (there are multiple copies/versions of each of these games) - Simcity, Where in the World is Carman Sandiego, Lord of the Rings, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil and so many more. DOWNSIDE - you cannot save progress. You really are taking a trip back in time. If you change to a new game, all progress restarts. (Original Review) Took out of box, plugged in and we were off. Spent hours enjoying Super Mario, Mortal Combat, Zelda, Grand Theft Auto and many other great games. Next day, a random game glitched and screen froze. Unplugged, replugged, now I can't get the power back on... Guess it was fun while it lasted. Have reached out for support, but if they can't fix remotely, I'll have to return and go through the process again, or get a refund. Bummer. ... show more

Installation super easy, the quality of the remote was not great. I liked the games but not all of them work. The quality of the picture very disappointing.

    • Remotes wouldn't connect

Both remote controls I got would keep loosing connection. Both has fresh batteries and it didn't matter how close I was to the stick it would connect for a minute or two (basically long enough to select a game) then would stop working on the title screen of the game. I returned it.
