    • Excellent textbook for my class
This was a very well written textbook for my Information Systems Security class. It was packed with information, and loaded with examples. Some of the chapters had repeated information, but that helped me to really understand the concepts. It was extremely thorough. My only complaint was that the terms sometimes conflicted. Like in one chapter the authors would define risk, and three chapters later it would have a different definition. Other than that, it was very interesting. If you do the labs with the textbook, they are decent. I ran into technical errors on their side twice, but both times I was able to work around the issues. I actually had to contact support one time and they could not reproduce the issue I was having. That was frustrating, but again, it was an issue I was able to work around. The labs are filled with information as well, and they gave good introductions to many different areas of security. There were only a few instances where I had to actually research and write answers to questions within the lab.     • Very engaging. A great read
I bought this book second-hand from another site, but I just wanted to rave about it somewhere I know people will look at it. I was assigned to read this text for my Cyber Security class and I got to say it was probably my favorite textbook for any of the science classes I've ever had to read. It wasn't all jargon that goes over your head (I could actually understand it!) and it was genuinely funny at times. You could tell the authors genuinely enjoy their work when you read this and it rubs off on you. Thank you Kim and Solomon for making this class enjoyable! ... show more
