Features

  • We have all been in a situation where we need to quickly turn the power off on our router table or contractor table saw and both of our hands are a bit pre-occupied. Reaching down and underneath your router table or contractor table saw to try and locate the power switch can be very cumbersome as well as very dangerous while your feeding stock through. Many router table setups dont even have an external power switch separate from the router itself.
  • With this uniquely designed and easy to locate Paddle Button Stop Power Tool Switch you can simply bump the large stop sign paddle with your knee or hip to shut the power off. That means both of your hands can stay engaged on the project while you bump the power off with your hip or knee. A large green START button is always visible on the top side of the paddle. Simply push the START button to power on.
  • Install the switch near or at hip level or in a position that you will be able to bump it when needed. The switch comes with installation hardware and can be mounted to most any type of material. The unit has two cords. The heavy duty female cord is 18 long and designed to accept the power source plug from your power tool. The heavy duty male cord is approximately 66 inches long and is used to plug the switch unit into your standard wall outlet.
  • Please take note that the Paddle Button Stop Power Tool Switch is 15 amps and will not work with power tools drawing higher amperage. Keep this in mind when connecting to your machinery. This switch was designed to work with smaller machinery like routers and smaller table saws. Check your machinery before using this product.
  • The stop sign paddle measures approximately 5-3/8 tall by 3-7/16 wide to make it easy to see and even easier to contact when needed. Mounting hardware is included but some surfaces my require hardware that does not come with the switch for proper mounting.

  • Great for controlling shop vacs
Well made, and easy to use. Does not need to be attached permanently to anything. The oversized STOP lever is great.

  • Great on my homebuilt router table.
I mounted this switch on the router table I built. Plugged the router into the switch and the switch into the wall outlet. Flipped the switch on the router and now can turn it on and off at the push of a button.

  • Secure start and stop
Love this thing as it does not make you cut cords on equipment to install. Plug and play, easy breezy. On off switches are however a very firm press. I thought something was wrong as I installed and hit the on switch and nothing happened. Wasn't until I really pressed hard did I realize it was a clicking action. ... show more

  • BIG STOP Button. Takes a little harder button push to turn the connected device to power on.
The Fulton on/off switch with BIG STOP is just perfect for any table saw, band saw or router table plus anything else you want to easily turn off. The very likable feature is the fact that pushing the on button takes more effort that most switches making it safer if children are around. Both Fulton switches are positioned so I can turn the table saw or router off with my leg. Very happy with this BIG stop switch. ... show more

  • Quality switch.
Exactly as described. I used this start stop switch to update/upgrade old table saw existing on off control. It definitely appears to be quality built, it is not a light flimsy piece of junk.

  • Works exactly as it should!
The only thing I don't like about it is the force and distance that the on button much be pushed. It is longer and harder than I would prefer. But everything looks nice and works well.

  • Okay, but a couple things to watch for
Let me start by saying that the unit works. The seller was great and my shipment was fast and accurate. I did have a couple of issues. For starters, when I opened the package, the paddle for the switch was not seated properly. Not a huge thing, but it made me wonder whether it was due to a rough shipping process, or if the design of the unit was to blame? I reattached the paddle and began testing the switches. The switches themselves are very stiff. In some ways this is good because you aren't going to have an accidental activation. But, it will require more pressure to be applied when starting the machines than many other units I've used. One of the main reasons I went with this unit is because it will flat mount to my cabinet, and has top and bottom mounting points to secure it. But, when I went to mark out my lines, I found that you cannot actually get a screw or screwdriver into the space at the bottom between where the two cord are attached. I was able to get around this by unscrewing the caps that secure the cord assembly, fixing the screw into the cabinet, and then screwing the caps back in place. For me, this seemed odd. It's as if the manufacturer realized the problem and built in a fix. However, the fix that is built in actually IS the problem itself. There are other ways to securely mount the power cords that would have avoided this. On the first test, it confirmed my earlier suspicion that the paddle not being seated was a design flaw, as the stop paddle popped of. If there is even slight pressure on the paddle from either side, it will pop it out of the anchor points. I mounted mine where I could bump it with my knee, and found that if you're not standing directly in line, any lateral torsion will cause it to come unseated. Not a huge thing, but will require you to pay specific attention during use. At some point, if I find it keeps coming up, I may cut off the mounting pins, drill the sides of the paddle, and run a bolt and lock nut assembly through it instead. All in all, a decent unit, especially when you compare it to the price of others. I had originally intended to build a unit myself. By the time I picked up a paddle style light switch, receptacles, and materials for building the box and the paddle, I was already at about $25.00. I figured my time is worth more than $5, so I'd come out ahead buying this. I'd say you can feel confident buying the unit. Just go into it knowing there are a couple of small issues. ... show more

  • Good switch
I bought this for my router table. It does its job and does it well. I like it, but I do have two minor nitpicks. First, it was a little annoying to install. The bottom screw is behind the two power cables, which I had to detach before I could fit a screwdriver in to install it. However, this will normally be a one-time annoyance. The only other minor annoyance is the stop paddle clicks in and take a bit of effort to pull out, or to turn it on again since that also pushes it out. I am not going to complain about the safety of this, but it is already basically impossible to hit the on switch as it is. If I turn the router off for a few seconds to adjust something, it takes enough force to turn it on again that it actually moves my router table even with the wheels locked. Honestly this is not a big deal, and it is not like similar products are perfect. At this price point for a niche product, most alternatives are not perfect either. As long as this switch does not melt from the current, or do its one job incorrectly (resulting in injury), that is good enough. ... show more
