  • Not a single regret with this purchase!
Style: Base Color: Graphite Gray
Absolutely thrilled with this decision! Bought a few weeks ago in anticipation of my boyfriend’s birthday next month and also because I just wanted a fun way to make some instant memories and this was just the thing I needed. After comparing several instant cameras, I came to the decision that the Square 6 was the perfect blend of accessibility and vintage charm. As pictured, there are a variety of photo settings that are designed to be simple enough to choose from and use without having to engineer your own exposure or focus and it feels so simple a child could use it which I love. The shutter button is on the front of the camera about an inch and a half under the viewfinder which has a small circle chiseled into the glass so you can center your subject instead of estimating, a very elegant solution to the viewfinder being in the far corner of the device so you don’t have to struggle to frame the shots. The photos are a bit smaller than I thought but I don’t dislike that because they develop beautifully, display adorably and are small enough to be given out as mementos if you want. Photo pack went into the slot perfectly and I had no issues with jamming or development. I really think the reviews complaining about how the pictures come out didn’t consider the actual purpose of buying an instant camera. If what you want is perfectly crisp, perfectly balanced photos, look elsewhere! This is a wonderful camera for nostalgia, sharing and learning how to thoughtfully capture the things you care about on film. I bought a sweet little leather case for it and 2 20 packs of film and have been having so much fun snapping photos and figuring out where to display them around the apartment! Best $80 I’ve spent in a while and absolutely an experience in and of itself! ... show more

  • Great instant camera with great features
Style: Base Color: Graphite Gray
Looking for a cheaper alternative to shooting with my Polaroid on 600 film, I started looking at Instax cameras. My initial purchase was an Instax Mini 40. After some additional research, I ended up returning that and getting this one instead for a few reasons. Firstly, this one is a lot sturdier and feels better built. At the time of purchase about 6 months ago, it was also only about $20 more than the Instax Mini 40. I also liked the square film format better than the regular Instax film. The extra features were what really sold me on the SQ6 however, more specifically the double exposure mode, timer, and different lighting modes. For what you get, I think this is a great instant camera. With the right expectations going into it, you won't be disappointed. As long as you have adequate lighting, the pictures generally come out pretty nice and vibrant. Instax film doesn't have quite as much of that "retro" film look as the Polaroid film does, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. The SQ6 is a great camera for people out on the go who want to take instant film, and it has the added benefit of being much cheaper per shot than Polaroid film. It's a good bridge between the cheaper Instax cameras and something more expensive and with better features like a Lomo. ... show more

  • Fantastic instant camera for beginners and professionals alike
Style: Base Color: Graphite Gray
Bought this camera for an upcoming trip to Hawaii, but it’s so versatile that I’ve already used it pretty extensively. Picture quality is great for the price, just ensure that you don’t flinch or move or else the image will be incredibly blurry. I’ll also note that pictures tend to be pretty cool, but you can definitely get them a bit warmer with adequate lighting. This is essentially a point-and-click camera with instant payoff. I find the film to be fairly priced and a much better deal than Polaroid film. Polaroid films might be bigger, but I actually appreciate the pocket-sized square films of this camera because they’re easier to store and organize. All in all, I can’t recommend this camera enough for people just entering the world of instant cameras and people who want to experiment with the multiple picture modes and filters that come included with the camera. The self-timer is so easy to use for group photos and it’s perfectly sized for travel, not too bulky and it comes with a comfy neck strap. If you’re still torn on which camera to buy, I don’t think you’ll find anything easier or as high-quality for the price as this one! ... show more

  • Definitely worth it!! Awesome camera
Style: Base Color: Graphite Gray
I love this camera, it is amazing. If you're struggling between choosing the Instax Mini or the Square, or even a Polaroid camera, I would totally go for the Instax Sq6. It offers way more features for only 10 bucks more than the Mini 9 or 11 and it's just better overall, in my opinion. Great camera and great quality photos for a really good price. Real easy to use as well, great for starters. You do have to be mindful of which setting you are using though, for example, make sure you don't accidentally take a close up shot while in landscape mode. But yeah, this camera is awesome. Would totally recommend this one over any of the Minis and any Polaroids. The Instax film lasts longer than Polaroid film (from what I've heard and seen) and Instax film is way cheaper than Polaroid film (but still great quality). I love this camera, it's great. I will say though, when I am taking a photo indoors (or in a bit of a dimmer setting outside, such as dusk), the pictures tend to come out more crisp and clear when I use the flash. When I don't use the flash, the pictures come out a bit blurrier. But, it's not horrible or a deal-breaker, and it may just be the way I'm using it. I also think that's just how instant cameras are. Overall, this camera is amazing and I definitely recommend it for anyone who's trying to find a good instant camera. ... show more
