I’ve had this mat over a year now and I’m extremely happy that I discovered this little wonder. I have chronic pain and managing flare-ups is difficult. This mat literally saves me when I have a bad flare up and nothing else works. Last night I used this for my horrible lower back pain and upper glute pain that I’d been dealing with for a couple days. I had tried my meds, massage gun, foam rolling, heat, medicated cream, and nothing fixed this pain for long. I couldn’t walk without the pain. I laid on the mat for about 30 min and when I stood up I had no pain in my lower back. I woke up this morning and I FORGOT ABOUT THE BACK PAIN. BECAUSE IT WAS GONE!!! I was literally about to get a $100 massage to fix the pain, but this mat saved me!! I could not be happier with this. Lol I do call it my “torture mat” because it does hurt, but mostly when you get on and off of it. But let me tell you - the pain is worth it! I get so much relief from this mat. I’ve used it for my back, IT band, hip flexor pain, glute pain, and to help with plantar fasciitis pain. It definitely gives that warm and tingling feeling after the initial ouch of getting settled on it. It helps relax me and manage my pain. I’m so glad my mother-in-law had one and I tried it or I never would have known about acupressure mats. I chose this mat in particular even with the higher price point vs other less expensive options because I knew it worked, and other mats don’t have this particular pressure point design (the plastic parts). It’s worth the price for sure. Some tips: For lower back area, put a folded towel under the mat section where the lower back will hit. When I did my session last night I forgot to do this, so I had to pull my knees to my chest to hit that particular spot where there’s that curve in the spine. I also kind of rolled from side to side with my knees up to really get into that spot. Worked wonders for me. Be careful getting on and off, and try not to move your body on the mat without lifting your skin off mat. I have definitely gotten scratched from this when I don’t pay extra attention to not moving around on the mat. Use without clothes between you and mat. Maybe tmi but I basically have to be naked when I need to do certain sections. I just put a blanket on top of me or wear a robe only on the front of my body. It’s awkward but worth it. I recommend putting a gentle lotion on the area after you use this. It can irritate the skin some and the lotion helps. Be sure to use something without fragrance though because if you do happen to have any broken skin it will burn. TLDR: It’s worth it. Just get it!! ... show more

    • My new favorite way to relax

My kids refer to this as “mama’s spike mat”. Haha. They have all tried it out for a couple of minutes but don’t see the appeal. I, however, am in love! It definitely is pretty pokey and stingingly painful- at first. But soon it just starts making me melt into the floor. I have ADHD primarily inattentive type and find it really hard to be in the moment or still my mind. This is as close as I get. It’s great for working out knots or stiffness, or just for unwinding after a long day on my feet. The other day I was doing a full day of training. After 9 hours in the wrong shoes my feet, knees, and back felt broken. I immediately pulled the mat and pillow out and within 15 minutes I felt like I’d just left an hour long massage. Just loose and completely relaxed! The best part is I bought it with leftover FSA funds I needed to spend down! Win win! ... show more

I will start by saying I wasn't experiencing any pain before trying this, I purchased this as a way to invest in health devices using FSA dollars before I lose them. Having said that, when I lay on this (without a shirt on, the shirt dulls the effect) I have a few minutes of fireworks in my back, which subsides over time and just gives a warming tingle. It is a little uncomfortable and odd, but I can see where this stimulates all kinds of nerves and circulation. Highly recommend for anyone to try! ... show more

This is the best thing I have ever gotten for my wellness! It has helped my with back issues, leg issues, and more. Helps me take care of myself before I go to sleep at night, it is relaxing, and at first may hurt, but you need to put a thin blanket on top maybe and then thinner as you get used to it. I can tolerate it, but it’s because I’m built like that. I don’t know if other people who are sensitive to pain can tolerate this, only way to find out is try though. This white things are hard and press deep into the skin without puncturing, takes some getting used to, but do notice some relief on the back, I don’t use it too often but that’s what I took from it. Maybe would use more if it were longer, it does get most of the back but wish it went down to the tail bone, without the acupressure pointers just for some lower back support. Guess the little pillow is for the neck, I wouldn’t directly under my head but closer to my traps. ... show more
