This works great. I have one window that did not have any type of a screen when we bought the house. For years I either didn’t open the window or I lived with flies coming in. One day I happened upon this while looking for something else, had no idea this type of thing existed. For the extremely inexpensive price, I had no faith it would even work but it definitely does! Wish I had of known about this years ago, super easy to install (basically you open the window, set this in that space, and close the window to meet the top of it), it’s simple, relatively secure, and no more flies just a lovely breeze. ... show more

My screens attached to my windows are a bit old and should be rescreened. I wanted some air moving through my house without chance of insects getting in. These are the larger size and easy to put in your window. They are old school what we had growing up. Nice appearance but aren't made as they used to be. I hate to use the word flimsy but it fits. Just taking out of the box they twist and threaten to break. Once in the window they are great. They do exactly what you want. Just can't be ruff because they could fall apart. I have cats that love to break screens and try to escape through them. I bought this one so if they did decide to damage the screen, I wasn't constantly buying repair kits for our nicer screens. This definitely isn't pet proof (however, doesn't claim to be) but I still gave it a 5 star because of its affordability and ease of use. It fits perfectly in my window and I love that you can easily adjust it to fit. The wood adds a nice touch to it too. I plan on buying another in the future and placing another in the window as that deters my cats a bit by having two there. I easily fix this with a sowing needle and some thread, and so far they haven't torn it! (Note: I use this on a double hung window) I wrote this review specifically for anyone else interested in buying this screen for pets who are a bit of a menace (I still love them though, and they enjoy the fresh air too). ... show more

I bought for better air circulation in my garage. One of the two windows I ordered came apart before installing. I was able to put it back together halfway decent but it does not slide as well. However, it doesn't effect the functionality of the screen once installed.

I bought this screen to fit the top pane our kitchen window. We have two 1 year old cats. They both were 3 months old feral kittens when took them in. I caught them trying to push out the window screen when the birds were on fire escape. We can't have that!! Obviously we didn't want to keep the widow closed all the time and lose the ability to get fresh air. This screen has been wonderful. Overall, I'm glad I bought these. The quality seems par for the course. I don't know where you would find a better product for a reasonable price. I would buy them again, in fact, I have bought a number of them over the last few years. I have a dozen or so now, and none have broken, not even the original "old ones," after several years of use. I use them during spring, summer and fall seasons. Pros: They do the job. They come in many sizes. Cons: They feel pretty flimsy. They are not the sturdy variety we grew up with before the days of household AC. They often "stick" when someone is sliding them, which can be really frustrating as you're holding the window up. ... show more
