  • Great on my 2015 Jeep Compass
Size: Jeep Compass/ Patriot 07-17 Front
I bought these brakes for my 2015 Jeep Compass Sport 2WD 2.0L I did a lot of research on brakes and was having trouble finding a set of pads/rotors that had good reviews for the MK model Jeeps (Patriot/Compass 07-16). I came across these and decided to roll the dice in hopes that they would be atleast as good as the OEM brakes. I installed them myself, following a few instructional YouTube videos. This is the first time in my life I’ve done my own brakes. The install went off without a hitch, the only minor setback I had was the original passenger side rotor didn’t want to come off, but I found a trick via YouTube to get it off with a bolt, nut and two wrenches. They fit perfectly on my Compass and I made sure to put lubricant and anti-seize in the proper locations. After installing them, I did the break in procedure recommended by Weize in the instruction manual. I have been very happy so far with these brakes. They function great and I didn’t have any problems with squeaking, grinding, vibration or other noises. At this price, I don’t think you can get better brakes for the money. They’re an incredible value and the stopping power is just as good if not better than the original brakes. One thing to note about the quality is that the drill holes and the slots in the rotors are positioned so they interact with the brake pads. On some other cheap rotors, the holes/slots extend way past the area the pads would come into contact. These are positioned correctly so you get maximum interaction of the holes/slots with the pads. I’ll keep this review updated as time goes on to let you know about their longevity and if any problems crop up over time. So far so good! UPDATE: I took my Compass on a 9 hour one-way trip from Kansas to New Mexico and the brakes performed great! Had to drive through the rain half the way on the trip there, and also did a fair amount of driving through mountains in New Mexico. The brakes performed great and they’re still going strong. My mom drove some of the trip too and said she though the Compass braked well without being too sensitive or too squishy, just the perfect amount of response from the pedal. I’m not noticing any problems with lots of brake dust, but I do make sure to blow them off with the air compressor in our garage every once in a while. Also did a drive from my home to Kansas City and back (4 hours each way), and they did fine on that trip too. It’s been a few months now that I’ve had them on there and everything is going well. Planning to paint my factory calipers black to match the drums on the rear. ... show more

  • Fantastic 4 Rotor and Pads Set At Fantastic Price
Size: Chevy Equinox 10-17 Front and Rear
This turned out to be an excellent investment! The Rotors and pads are all very high quality! The sets were packaged great, and they included instructions. Amazingly, this set was literally half the price of identical sets from other brands. These are vented, drilled, and slotted rotors with carbon fiber & ceramic brake pads. I installed these on my 2015 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ AWD 3.6L SUV. I use my SUV to tow my Tiny Home/RV to new locations on a regular basis. The factory rotors had warped from use in the mountains. This WEIZE set is made for towing. My Trailer is all aluminum with dual axles and electronic brakes with a computerized brake controller too, so that helps. Doing my brake rotors and pads replacement myself cost me literally 10 times less than getting it done at a shop! I did the rear brakes one day and then the front brakes several days later. Each day of work was about 3-4 hours as I took my time with it being the first time on this vehicle. In addition, I was doing the replacements off-road. I bought a brake bleeder kit, but I didn't even need it. I just used a caliper compressing tool and opened the bleeder valve with the valve higher than the hose and closed the valve quickly. I am very thankful I got this WEIZE Rotor and Pads kit. The brakes have been performing fantastic. ... show more

  • Stopping power and braking distance about half of original rotors...
Size: Toyota Tundra 08-22 Front and Rear
original review from 7/21/23 (updates at bottom): Vehicle: 2011 Toyota Sequoia 4x4 Limited, 5.7L FFV. I have replaced pads and rotors many times on many vehicles. This was the first time I received rotors with any coating on them (other than the normal greasy/sticky film to prevent rusting during shipping). These looked to be painted with some kind of silver coating. I replaced all four rotors, and used the included pads. The pads fit fine, sliding into the calipers without much force. I did not remove the coating (I found no such requirement in the listing or online). While I did spray down the calipers, hardware, and braking surfaces with brake cleaner, not much (if any) of the coating came off. All pistons on all the calipers retracted easily, and all the slide pins were free and easily moved by hand. On the first drive, there was a terribly loud rubbing/grinding sound coming from all four wheels. I put the car back on the lift and verified all clearances and torque values on all the bolts and lug nuts. Convinced that the sound was coming from the rotors and pads rubbing normally, I set off to bed the pads/rotors. After about 5 cycles of 35mph to 5mph using moderately hard braking, I repeated another 5 cycles from 55mph to 5mph. This was followed by about 5 minutes of no braking cool-down driving. The grinding sound was gone, but brake fade was terrible. I could hardly stop and brake travel was to the floor. No matter how hard I pushed, I could not trigger the ABS (even on gravel roads!). I assumed it was because of how hot the pads had gotten. After cooling down overnight, I again checked it on the lift, and found everything to be tight and within spec. The pads had some kind of hard melted like appearance on the mating surface. I assumed this was the coating that had melted off. The braking power returned enough to be able to activate ABS, and the pedal no longer went to the floor. However, the amount of force required to stop the vehicle was easily TWICE what it had been prior to the replacement. It is a creepy, uneasy feeling to have to push so hard to get it to stop. It is certainly not safe - at least not until I get used to the amount of force required. I have reached out to the seller to express my concerns. At this point I am very uncomfortable leaving it the way it is. Once I hear back from them and find a resolution I will return to update this review. ------------------- update 7/24/23: ------------------- seller reached out to me requesting video of issue. Fortunately, after driving it for the last few days, whatever coating was on the pads has worn off, and now the braking power has returned to what it was prior to the replacement. Unfortunately, there appears to be rubbing of the inside of the rear rotors and the parking brake dust plate. The plate is thick (not like the main rotor dust plate that can be bent pretty easily) and it holds the pins on which the parking brake shoes pivot. So bending that is not an option as I don't want to have other alignment issues with the shoes. I have documented the raised lip on the new rotors (5.02mm) compared to the OEM rotors (4.90mm). That little bit of a difference is causing the interference. See pics for difference in the lip height. The picture with arrows shows the interference/rubbing areas. I will update this review once I hear back from the seller. ------------------- Update 7/27/23: ------------------- Seller has suggested: 1) Replace new pads with old ones (they would credit me twenty bucks) since they believe the noise is from the pads. 2) Sell the rotors to someone else (and they offer fifty bucks credit). 3) That I not modify the rotor by grinding 0.5mm off of the non-braking lip that's causing the interference as it may void warranty (if not done by a "technician" So, to be clear, I'm not going to put old pads on new rotors. I won't "sell" my problematic rotors to pass off the issue to someone else. Seeing as my 13-year garage owning ASE-certified mechanic neighbor suggests to grind off the lip, I think that's the route I'm going to go. As such, I am not at all impressed with the follow up by the seller. I am impressed the the price - since the cheapest basic rotor at local retailers are no less than $120 EACH. But be prepared to have fitment issues - at least on Sequoias. ------------------ Update 7/29/23 ------------------ After pulling the rear rotors off, I used an angle grinder to remove about 0.5mm from the lip. It is no where near the braking surface, so there was no risk to the rotor function. After reinstalling, the rubbing is completely gone. It's quiet, and braking power is where it should be. Now that I know about the interference possibility, I would not hesitate to buy these again. In fact, I have a 2007 Tundra, and I may just buy another set for that. It was the uncertain and frustrating response by the seller that caused my poor rating. At this point I'll give it a 4/5 stars since it's still a great price compared to any other retail outlet. ... show more
