its very thick!! which is super helpfull in order to not bend your back at all!!! better than my breast friend for sure. only thing i would improve is the back strap which does not close small enough and the strap is too smooth so while wearing it it slowly slides looser and looser... so the back support could be better, but it does work - its tight enough to even stand up and walk around with the baby on it (supported by you obviously). just need to tighten the strap on each use. also my baby loves to fall asleep on his tummy on the the round side of it, nd i use it for tummy time as well! so its been usefull around here ... show more

I was hesitant if buying it or not as I already have the boopy and my best friend pillow. I was experiencing a lot of back pain due leading towards baby while breastfeeding and trying to keep pillow in place and at the right height. I decided to give this one a try as my back was killing me and my nipples were also sore due baby struggling to properly latch because of my struggles with these pillows. I’m glad I bought it. I also removed the first layer (the one for newborns) and added it inside my best friend pillow which made it higher , firmer and added the concave section of the pillow to avoid baby from rolling over, so know I have two useful breastfeeding pillows :) The boopy doesn’t work for me as baby falls in the gap between my body and the pillow while breastfeeding, I might use it for tummy time when baby gets older. If you’re looking for a firm, high pillow to breastfeed in a couch or in bed, just get this one. Also some reviews mention the smell. It smelled when first opened but after washing the cover the smell went away. It might be from the plastics layers but once you wash the cover the smell fades so is not an issue any more, at least for me. ... show more

I like that this was adjustable and it is really good quality but I could never get it to set just right when breast feeding. I found the Boppy to work much better. I am a bit shorter and my baby is small so that could be why it doesn’t work right, even with removing some of the cushions, it was just awkward. ... show more

This pillow has worked way better than the boppy pillow. I have a longer torso and the boppy never felt like i had much support. I like that it has adjustable padding to help when baby grows. Baby was a little less than 7lbs when born and didn't seem to care for all 3 layers but once I took out the top layer he was able to feed comfortably. Like that it has pockets in the front. Haven't really used the adjustable belt; I just tuck it in one of the pockets. Highly recommend this pillow! ... show more

This is a must have for new breastfeeding moms. I have the Boppy nursing pillow but it was hard to get the position just right and it wasn’t elevated enough for my newborn. Plus, I had a c-section and didn’t want to be repositioning that much in that area because of pain. I ended up using regular pillows but then they were always moving and I couldn’t get the right elevation or firmness to comfortably feed my baby. This nursing pillow is a game changer because you can adjust the height on it and it buckles around you so no need to keep adjusting it or pulling it up. The back rest on it is great too. I like that you can put heating packs or ice packs in the pocket too for pain relief. I haven’t needed it so far though. But it’s there if I need to. I wish I had this pillow to begin with because it would’ve saved a lot of frustration with breastfeeding. ... show more

I brought many frida products in the past. When I purchased this, I was looking for a review that tested the Boppy, Frida pillow vs the My Breast friend pillow. I tried many different positions and levels and the Frida mom pillow didn’t work for us. It’s great for posture correction, but I think it’s best if you were sitting in a hard chair. The reality is I think most moms feed in the bed or couch or rocking chair and the baby doesn’t need to be so high (at least for me), so although it helped my back a bit I could never get the baby in a good position. I also tried both the pillow side and hard side. I prefer the My breast friend as it gives better back support and sits the baby lower so they can feed at an angle without breaking your back. Also the clasp was not convenient when trying to get a hungry baby to feed quickly. The my breast friend is easy to snap in quickly. Lastly I like how the my breast friend pillow is super light weight but also hard enough to prevent the baby from falling asleep too quickly on the breast. Not for us but good clever invention, nice fabric and nice packaging. ... show more

I love the comfort it gives on your legs with the built in pillow on bottom but the sturdiness of the top for baby to not sink while feeding and the fact that if needed you can take a layer out to lower pillow size. I’m loving this nursing pillow. The combination of soft and firmer layers makes it perfect to nurse. I like the firmest section on my legs and the baby on the softest. The height is perfect for me (5’3” and skinny) so the baby is right at breast level. I’m not hunching or struggling while feeding.
