After several days reading reviews and reading the ingredients added to the popcorn, I decided to give this one a try. Especially being organic and having the pre measured oil and salt butter. I just made a packet of it this evening and I was amazed by the volume of popped popcorn one package made and that I did not have one kernel of corn that was not popped. When I got to tasting it again I was amazed at the excellent flavor it had and how the pre measured oil and butter salt was for my taste. I’m definitely staying with this brand of popcorn and I will be ordering more this evening. Franklins Gourmet Popcorn is definitely one to try out. ... show more

I was really excited to try this popcorn. They sell a pretty nice popcorn cooking pot, so I was thinking the popcorn must really taste great with them being experts on the topic. I even added just a little more of their popping oil. After it was all done, it looked like golden popcorn nuggets. The kernels even popped like gourmet popcorn would. Nice, round an fluffly. Then came the moment of truth. I popped a few into my mouth and slowly bit down on the golden nuggets. It felt like they have been left out overnight. There was no crunch, it didn't melt in my mouth. It was stale. I thought that well if anything it will have a nice buttery taste. Nope! That didn't happen either. The whole experience was so disappointing that I threw the whole order away. Let me get this out of the way up front: I'm a guy who likes salt. Friends are sometimes surprised by how much salt I like on my food. So keep that in mind as you read the following. I bought this popcorn to use in a commercial 8oz-kettle popcorn machine that I use to make popcorn for my home theater. I used to use MegaPop, but for the past year, their popcorn has been popping up chewy and tough. So, I started looking at alternatives. I'm happy to say that the batch of Franklin's that I bought pops up well, and is crispy and satisfying. My only complaint is that if you use the entire contents of the pre-measured pack, it is *far* too salty. Fortunately, the salt/flavor powder is in a separate little section of the pouch, so it's possible to open that section first, pour the powder out, and then use only a portion of it when making the popcorn. I reduced the salt powder portion by about 1/3 (estimated by eye), and that seemed to produce good results. Of course, this is inconvenient compared to just dumping the entire pack into the kettle, so I will likely keep looking to see if I can find a brand that pops up as well as the Franklin's, but does not require the fussy measuring. ... show more
