  • This thing is a quiet tank - Define 7 XL
Color: Black
Albeit a bit spendy, this case is amazing! The shipping box showed some wear & tear - it was diverted to a warehouse in the Midwest for a couple of days en route due to adverse weather. It may have been tossed once or twice. Absolutely no damage to any of the contents inside. The case is heavy, but an absolute blast to customize and tweak as your build demands. Cable management is a cinch. The only problem I had was needing cable extenders for SATA data/power cables. I mounted one spinning HDD and three SSDs in the cable area so I could put fans in the bottom/hide cables and remove the storage partition. No lie, i went a little overboard with the RGB and fans, but using the Phanteks Halo Lux I could connect and sync all the fan RGBs easily. Except for the AIO, all the fans are routed to the onboard fan hub on the case. It is so roomy, I had no problem putting the AIO into a push/pull configuration. The three included fans are very quiet. The Define 7XL comes with removable dust filters on the front, bottom and top (their use is completely optional) so high static pressure fans are a must. Being old school, I needed to have an optical drive up in the top. That is what needed all the cable extenders to get to the ATX MoBo on the back. Adding all the hardware into the case, I'm realistically pushing 60 lbs with this thing. And there is plenty of room if I want to go full water cooling later. I really like this case, there are so many different configuration possibilities with it. The only real negative is the price. That and how heavy it is. Ultimately, I ended up mounting it on the wall above the desk to clear the desk top and keep it away from pet fur. ... show more

  • Built like a tank! very solid
Color: Black
This case is awesome! It is very heavy 44 lbs shipping weight and feels very solid, lots of room to work with. The pictures do not do it justice looks even better in person, i was going to keep it in a closet but after seeing the case i think it will be put on display once it's complete. I bought it for a server/NAS/VM build my only complaint is there is no HDD trays available to buy yet so i can only use 6 for now. All my PC cases are slowly becoming Fractal Design! ... show more

  • Quality
Color: Black
This is an absolute quality case, it is obvious that a lot of thought went into the engineering of the case and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a case.

  • Amazing case but due to QC issues and 3.5HDD tray availability only 3 stars
Color: Black
The case itself is fantastic and would highly recommend buying it but both the quality control of the case and the availability of drive trays are substantial issues. The bad: My first case had more than just a few dings in the case, one of the drive cages was bent and there was a critical flaw at one of the screws that had to be removed to allow converting the case to its server configuration. I contacted customer service and tried to get a replacement case however they did not have any supply available. Amazon stepped up when they came back in stock and shipped number 2 out. The material could have been a little thicker or more firm in some places, panels and drive cages could be more rigid after seeing the issues that were present in case #1. I understand that they likely did it to lighten up a heavy case but at the $200 price point, I don’t want to think about panel integrity. Better choices of steels and alloys and structural reinforcement at this price point should have been made. The other glaring problem is the lack of available trays to purchase for 3.5 HDDs for server configuration, a large problem since this is one of the listed builds in the manual. I’ve found the 2.5 SSD trays on other retailers but the 3.5 trays are hard to come by. Pros: The case is BIG and easy to route cables through. How big? Pictured is an E-tax motherboard and a 160mm tall CPU cooler. Want to cram multiple radiators in here? No sweat! Want to add 18 3.5 HDDs for an unraid server? No problem! This is one of those cases that only comes by every so often on the consumer market that you can LITERALLY hold just about anything you can think of and not look like the mothership has landed. Cooling mounts are plentiful and the stock fans are actually usable, along with the included fan controller. Noise level is acceptable, this was not billed as a silent case but it does a great job nonetheless. Even with all the issues that I had, would I buy this case again? Yes I would. It is clear there are manufacturing QC issues, the case was rushed to market with low inventory and better structural decisions could have been made on the rigidity of the panels but what you do get is a case that you can fit some serious hardware that would not be possible in almost any modern case. Fix the QC issues and make the accessories widely available and this is an EASY 5 star case. ... show more

  • The size

I bought this cased and remodeled a cubby of my desk thinking it would be a little bigger than my previous tower, the tower didn't fit, this monstrosity monstrosity enormous and feels like you can fit a second motherboard in it.
