They come with a envelope opener type tool so that when you cut the plastic wrapping that is around it, you will not cut the fabric of the mattress by mistake. I appreciate the thoughtfulness right out of the gate. Once you get the plastic off, you immediately see how the air will start to sort of inflate the mattress bc I imagine they use vacuum seals to package it. It doesn't take long for the bed to regain its full shape and you are able to climb into your new favorite hangout. I'm serious! This bed is perfect! The right about of firmness in the softest mattress! This memory foam is such high quality- I noticed just after the first night such a difference in the way I felt the next morning. I have two bunks for the nephews and I tested two different mattresses - to be honest both kids loved them, but for this one I got "this one feels like cold sheets" which in the warm ny summer is high praise indeed. I got this mattress for my toddler's room, as we are starting to have him sleep in his own room very soon! I was very surprised by just how comfortable it is! It came packaged rolled up tightly, and the directions said to carefully cut it open -it even came with a cutting device. It sprung open and immediately took its shape! We gave it an hour or so to fully open, although the directions said 3 days... we felt that it was fine to test out and boy did we rethink getting it for our son- we wanted it for ourselves after laying on it!! It's firm, yet comfy and the pillow top is made of very soft material. We will definitely be looking into getting one of these mattresses for ourselves. Highly recommend! ... show more

I got this to use in the spare bedroom at my parents house when I go and visit. It is WAY more comfortable then the old air mattress they had. This mattress is well made and arrived in perfect condition. It is a bit heavy, but not to difficult to maneuver. After a couple of days to reinflate, and to air out I got to try it out, and it was amazingly comfortable. I got a very good nights sleep on it.
