  • Value for money
For the price you pay for this tester it is good value for money. It is good enough to be used in a workshop. It has a good range and can do most of the things you normaly need in a workshop. You can also buy testers for 10 000$ so it is of course some limits to what you can expect from a disgnostic tool in this price range. ... show more

  • absolute and complete garbage
would not auto recognize the vin, so entered it manually. scanned codes, then went to clear the codes it keeps saying communications lost, tried everything, nothing worked, it would just say be sure the dongle is plugged in and the key is on..which both were. even showed the dongle being paired and connected constantly, but could not communicate with it. several times, it came up with "application has stopped responding", so it's being sent back, and spending the money on a better quality scanner ... show more

  • Sharp learning curve for this novice
It insisted that I create an account before I got started. So make sure you have internet signal available or it will get frustrating. It gave me the option to email a report of my diagnostic information. But when I tried to set up that function Google would not let the setup finish. One of the possibilities listed as to why is that there might have been security concerns. Oh well, I can go without emailing the report. This did let me take screenshots and those were easy enough to find afterwards so that's helpful. Also helpful is that this can be turned on even when not attached to the car. However, it does not charge while connected to the vehicle and the battery drains FAST. So fast that I would be concerned about having to stop midway if I needed to use the tool for too long. This did not automatically find the vin for my vehicle and I had to choose the other option to enter it manually. However this did not let me type in my VIN, I had to choose make, model and year. I might just not have found that setting yet. I am trying to teach myself auto repair. I have invested in several different levels of scanners starting from the $20 version all the way up to this one. This one seems more intuitive than other scanners. But I do not like that I have to create an account to use it. I have a lot more playing around to do. ... show more

  • This scanner is awesome
This was easy to use right out of the box. You will need internet to activate the user interface, or at least it appears that way. I registered the product and was connected to my Wifi easily. Then I just plugged in the OBD2 interface to my car, turned on the ignition (not actually starting the car) and ran the quick test. The Auto-VIN did work with my 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS. I've had my car 13 years, so I recognized the VIN when it auto detected. If it doesn't auto detect yours, don't give the product a lower rating... it's just your car isn't supported. The car is the issue, not the scanner. The diagnostic menus are super easy to work through and see the status of the cars different sub-systems. I'm ASE-level trained on engine mechanics but this was 40 years ago. I was happily surprised to see its scanning my climate controller, seat presence detection, as well as the normal engine parameters. I have seat heaters that in the last year have become occasionally, "Out of Office," when I try to turn them on. Of course, they're working fine when I connected this scanner, and next time they act up I'll easily be able to connect the scanner to see "what's up?" Good scanners are not cheap. You get what you pay for. This scanner is def worth the price of purchasing it. You can email, print and save test results for cars. Once you've scanned, you can save the VIN for later recall. The battery was about 70% when I pulled it out of the box, so I did charge it before use (about an hour to get to 100%). The interface on OBD2 gets power from the car, and then bluetooth connects to the scanner. I will admit the only thing I haven't tried is the TPS sensors. I'm old school. I hook a gauge up to my tires, and the on-board system correlates to the same number/tire for PSI. I really couldn't tell from the instructions what exactly I'm doing with the sensors I got with the scanner. Maybe later when I have a lot of free time (no time soon) I'll see what's required to use them. ... show more
