A small device that's Easy to use. Lots of features. Provides error codes to look up on the internet. The connector is solidly made.

Right out of the box this worked perfectly on my Acuras and Corvettes. The software update is impossible online, the proper downloads are no longer available, but in my case I didn't need them. Very cool device, was able to scan for all active and stored codes. Could see my O2 sensors and full emission system was working. Measured my boost levels and IATs in real time.     • Just works and is super easy to use
I am not a car repair genius. I don't play one on the interwebs either. I have an RV that was making some slight clicking noise when running. The RV has a Promaster 2500 chassis. I read horror stories on the web about cylinder misfires leading to some serious problems down the road. I bought the Foxwell NT301, plugged it in and boom my fears were alleviated. All systems were clear for takeoff. The diagnostics are super easy to understand. You basically plug the unit in (no batteries required, it is powered by the OBD interface). The Foxwell NT301 provides any existing errors or pending errors. I recommend watching some videos or reading the manual to be clear on how the device works. You can run a plethora of tests. I am quite pleased with the device. It seems quite durable as well. I would say this is for the normal person working on their car. If you are an advanced mechanic type you would probably want a more robust, feature rich meter. Because you read this far, the clicking was caused by a noisy solenoid purge valve (an emissions thing). This was a good buy. ... show more

easy to use & update. hooked it to my computer & downloaded the update software from the Foxwell website & updated it to latest software easily & quickly. it has more features that I have used yet or probably will but better to have the features & not use them than need them & not have them. plus, we have another car that is a 2019 I'm going to plug it into to see if that car has more to communicate with & use more of the features. I got the NT301 on sale & there was an online coupon to apply as well so getting this OBD2 reader for under $50 with free overnight shipping was a steal in my book. I had put off getting one for far too long & then when I decided to get it the timing was absolutely perfect. I've only had it a few weeks, but I used it as soon as I got it because I knew I had at least one bad coil pack misfiring on my 2003 work van. I plugged in the meter turned on the van & hit the OBD2 feature button & it started scanning my van. in less than 30 seconds it was complete & I had two codes listed. I selected read codes & there they were cylinder 5 & cylinder 7 were showing misfire on the coil packs. I went to Ford & pick up two new coil packs changed them on the cylinders & the old 6.8-liter V10 is purring like a kitten again. with two bad coil packs it was killing my gas milage & with today's prices & a 36-gallon tank I couldn't afford that. so yeah, I am very satisfied so far with the reader & I hope it stays functional for many years to come. i have only had it a few weeks now so longevity would be the only question mark at this point. ... show more
