I personally have it on carpet next to my bed so as far as knowing whether it is slip resistant, I can’t honestly answer that. I got the white one it washes up well I let it air dry. This rug is as soft as a shitzu's tummy. Now if you've never felt a shitzu's tummy, let me tell you it is soft. It is so soft that you find yourself petting it -- with the rest of the dog -- at every chance you get. That's how this rug feels. You step onto it and your feet have a moment of "ahhhhh I have entered the promised land." It's soft. It's fluffy. It's decently sized. It's well made. I am not sure that it would hold up to a lot of wear and tear, spills, cleanings, etc., but we are very happy with it.
