  • Fast & Strong Closed-loop Motors: The Masuter 3S is equipped with NEMA23-76 closed-loop stepper motors. They have great performance in step-loss control. And the torque is 2.2 Nm. and its moving speed is up to 10000mm/min.
  • Rigid Structure & High Accuracy: The Masuter 3S uses 23*60mm extrusions that ensure the stability during carving. The Z-axis uses dual HG-15 linear rails and T12 lead screw, which effectively reduce wobble and enhance the engraving accuracy to 0.05mm.
  • 400W Powerful Spindle: It comes with a 400watt spindle, which is capable to engrave and cut soft metal such as aluminum. An extra spindle clamp (65mm) is included in the package for trimmer router upgrade.
  • Easy-maintenance Controller Box: the newly designed controller box is easy to use and maintain. There are several shortcut buttons for fast operation. And it is dust-proof and easy to clean. It supports offline controller (coming soon).

I recently purchased the FoxAlien Masuter 3S CNC machine, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. From the moment it arrived, I knew I was in for a treat. The packaging was super well done, ensuring everything arrived in perfect condition. Assembly was a breeze—it only took me about 40 minutes from unboxing to powering it on. This machine is a significant upgrade from the Masuter 3, with a more robust build that feels incredibly solid. One of the first things I noticed was how ridiculously quiet it is when moving across all axes, which is a huge plus when working in a shared space. The controller box is a bit larger than I expected, but it’s well-organized and easy to navigate. The Nema 23 motors are another highlight—they’re fast, strong, and make the cutting process smooth and efficient. The FoxAlien community is also fantastic. Their Facebook group is packed with helpful tips and support, making it easy to find solutions to any issues that arise. The only thing I wish it came with was an ER11 1/4” collet and some 1/4” end mills, but it does include some 1/8” v-bits to get you started. I'm new to the CNC world so my review shouldn't really count. So far I have figured out how to make it work and do some cutting with it.     • Really good machine
This CNC is really good for a home-level machine. I have another desktop CNC in the same price range that I've been using for the last few months and this one matches it in performance without breaking a sweat. I wouldn't say that it beats it outright, but it's pretty similar in performance. I'm considering keeping this one as-is and not upgrading the spindle to use it as an engraving machine while my Genmitsu with a Makita router does the heavy cuts, simply because the included spindle is much more quiet. Most of my bits are 1/4" shank though, so I'll probably get the makita router eventually. Pros: -The fit and finish is very nice. I like the custom look of the build rather than being built out of extruded aluminum rails. -The actual usable bed size of this machine is slightly larger than competitors, due to the position of the spindle on the gantry. -All brackets are included to upgrade the spindle to a Makita RT0701C Router. -Assembly was very easy, I timed 60 minutes exactly from cutting the box to running my first homing command. This also included refilling my coffee cup during assembly lol -Quite rigid for a desktop machine. I haven't truly run it through it's paces on very hard woods yet, but it cuts through MDF like butter at high speeds. -Runs on UGS rather than a proprietary software. It's nice to not have to swap software when running both machines, and I'm a big fan of open source. This does come with all of UGS's quirks though, so maybe a custom software would be less intimidating for beginners. Cons: -The included bits could have been better, a little variety would have been nice. Having a bunch of 1/8 shank engraving bits is only going to go so far. -The spoilboard is MDF with sunken thread inserts, I prefer aluminum extrusions for ease of using T-slot nuts for workholding flexibility. Most of my jobs are held down with CA glue and painters tape though so this isn't a huge deal. -I would have liked to see a dust collection boot shipped with the kit. I will be running more challenging projects through this cnc eventually, I will update this review if any negatives arise. It seems to be very capable, however. ... show more

I was very happy at first. Now I’m very disappointed. I have only had the Fox alien Masuter 3s for one week and the spindle just stopped working. Also, ordered the 8040 extension and got a message saying that it was delivered, they delivered it to the wrong house. They claim they sent it to the right house. I’m sorry but almost $400.00 someone needs to find it. Also, customer support isn’t very helpful at all. They seem like they couldn’t care less about any of it. It was my impression that it’s under warranty for the first year. Don’t believe that. I will change my review if they fix the issues. I guess we shall see. They definitely aren’t in a hurry. Initial impressions: Packaging - 10/10 Everything was packaged extremely well. Best I have seen. I think I counted 5 or 6 layers of custom cut foam inlays to protect each subassembly. All parts/subassemblies were clearly labled and were easy to find. Instructions - 9/10 The documentation and instructions were also excellent. The manual included was on a nice sized "book" with clear instructions and pictures. Some of the pictures were slightly difficult to see the orientation of the black parts due to shadows but overall, assembly was super easy. The fasterners were all clearly labels in a small parts bin. I was impressed that most of the unit was already preassembled in significant sub-assemblies. The rails with the stepper motors and all components were already assembled and packaged very well. Quality: The initial impression on quality is 10/10. All the parts were machined to very high tolerances. Fit and finish was excellent. The frame and rails feel quite stout and rigid. The stepper motors are fast and accurate. Performance: The kit I got was fitted with a smaller 400w spindle motor. This is more suited for smaller/lighter work such as engraving and light wood routing. If you are looking to move more material, I would. suggest getting the more powerful spindle motor or use it with a palm router. With that said, this is a smaller CNC so for me it is great.
