I bought this cardboard gingerbread house kit to be one of the 25 activities my family would do on each day of December leading up to Christmas. This kit was a huge success! My 4 and 6-year-olds ended up getting sick much of December and couldn't do a lot of the activities we had planned, but they were well enough to sit at the table with me and put together these adorable houses! There were no instructions, but we didn't need any - common sense was all it took! My kids were even able to help construct the actual buildings - not difficult! The cardboard was the perfect thickness. We were amazed by how many stickers came with the kit. There were enough left over for other projects. It was wonderful to be able to sit down with one package and have everything we needed right there for the whole project. So easy! There were four houses in the kit, but we only made three. We worked on them and played with them all morning. Even though my son was not able to speak much because of his sore throat, he made a point of saying, "this is so much fun," while he put stickers on his house! This was a Christmas WIN! ... show more

The instruction sheet lacks information. The white snow stickers do not match up to the house very well. But, these two 49 years old made some great memories. These do not compare to the real gingerbread houses. They don't taste near as good.

This was not easy. I got this to do as a fun activity with the children but the project was overall frustrating. It was too many pieces and just too much. It went from fun to a chore. It is cuter in pictures than it is in real life. Making it out of cookies is much easier. It's also just cardboard and it doesn't last much longer than the real ginger bread. I'll do the real thing from now on. ... show more

Ok, the positive is that this is plain cardboard and the dog is not nearly as likely to eat it as our normal Gingerbread House. We have the roof on it so the cat probably will not consider it a Christmas box and stuff her cat butt into it - probably. It could be construed as a positive that your decorations don't dry out if you leave the top off, but those decorations also fall in the negative category, so please keep reading. Another positive is that if these get knocked off by Santa, the reindeer, or the neighbor's two toddling tornadoes otherwise known as children, the cardboard shouldn't shatter like gingerbread. HOWEVER, the negatives are that this is not nearly as cute as a real Gingerbread House and frankly, the decorations are pretty lame and some are downright tacky. Speaking of which, LOOK at the stickers in the picture - MARRY Christmas is not a misprint - the stickers actually say that. This just wasn't much fun to put together for our crowd because half of our fun is making a mess with icing, eating the quite stale left over gum drops, making fun of the application of sprinkles, etc. Sooooooo....... decide what is important to you and make a purchase accordingly.     • Not Enough Decorating Material
This craft gingerbread house kit was a great activity for kids at my party. The cardboard pieces are cut just okay, not great but it will do the job. The issue I had this product, is that they did not provide enough materials for decorating the houses. All decorating material would be good for 1 or maybe houses but not for the four included in this kit. Otherwise, okay product. I also think it's a little overpriced for what it is. ... show more
