Purchased this item for my 98 Civic Hatchback and have to say it's been working flawlessly. Over 2k miles since install and A/C blows cold. I asked my A/C technician what his experience has been with Four Seasons compressors and he stated that they can be hit or miss. If you're looking for a compressor to last you another 150k miles just spend the extra $100 and get a Denso. If you just need something to get you back on the road for the next few years, this will do just fine. ... show more

I have installed this on 6/23/18, I will come back and edit if it stops working (hopefully not) but so far the first day it has. It took some time to cycle the system (what I think was happening), it would sometimes turn off the first few pulls and actually fight against me when accelerating. Not sure exactly what was happening but I would also sometimes hear sort of a hiss/rub (I thought it was the belt not being right) and I realized it was the pressure relief valve. Pretty sweet that this in fact worked and the system was basically calibrating itself for a while. The first 30-45 minutes were like this, hissed about 4-5 times but afterwards the air started to remain cool and actually got colder (instead of turning itself off) when accelerating now. I had this replaced along with a new condenser and drier, the system was vacuumed and had no sign of leaks. A sure sign to know know your compressor is bad is; it's making excessive noise and isn't putting out more than 10 PSI (low side) when turned on.     • No oil.
Have not installed yet. There were no colored caps under the plugs as stated the installation sheet to determine how much oil was to be measured. I removed the plugs to measure the oil. There was no oil in the compressor to measure. Just a heads up.

This is a great part at a decent price i had no problems it fit my 95 civic just like the factory one that was in the car. Shipping was fairly quick cant complain.

My ACs been down for over 4 years due to the fact that I am El Cheapo. I finally bought this cause my wife was worried about me driving in the California heat. So far it's been nice and blows very hard.
