If you are looking for a good book to understand the most basic things in finance this is a good start. I bought it as a reference for my finance class and it helped out a lot! I really recommend it specially if you get at a good price like i did totally worth having around even after class.

I bought this book for an intro course in finance. Unlike many textbooks, the authors clearly make their prejudices known immediately. I appreciated this. So many textbooks either attempt to disguise their prejudices under a veneer of impartiality or are so bland that it is impossible to tell that the topics being discussed may be subject to some dispute. The practice problems are very helpful in conveying both the logic behind various analyses and how those analyses are implemented in practice. This book was required reading for a course i was taking. It was received as expected with speedy delivery. No issues and very boring, but when ordering for a class this is a very good thing. Like it when there is a not drama situation.
