  • Excellent Product, Excellent Quality, Excellent Price
Update 10/30/2021: I'm going to keep my 5 star rating, but I'm getting a "drum beat" low volume sound out of all of the amps when connected to bluetooth with no volume. Customer service is working with me to resolve this (could be my WiFi AP directly above the units). Update 10/21/2021: Having used these four amps for several weeks now, there are a few little nits that have surfaced, but I still think these amps are superb. First, if you stream more than two Bluetooth sessions in to these amps that are collocated like mine, there are audio dropouts. Ultimately, it would be so much better if these could do wi-fi directly and have more flexibility to handle perhaps dozens of streams. Second, for those who want to try the Google Home Mini route, what I've found is that if you add a stream on the Home app that the two stay in sync. Adding a third set of speakers kills everything (bluetooth dropouts, and loss of sync). So, if you intend to have more than two of these in one location and need to play three or more at a time, it might require a Sonos or something similar. I really didn't need that... Original Post: I love this product. I had previously had a single zone output from my amplifier that ran four sets of speaker pairs in multiple rooms in my house. It was a pain, because I didn't want my speakers in all the rooms on, and my pushbutton switch had to be manually changed every time. So, we'd only put it on when we'd have parties. I replaced that single zone system with four of these Fosi 50 Watt amplifiers. I went a step further and paired them via Bluetooth to four Google Nest Mini speakers in each room. That way, I could stream music to each room individually from Spotify, and, I could control the music and volume remotely via Google Assistant or my phone. I can't tell a difference between these Fosi amps and my high-end amplifier/receiver except when I really crank up the volume. I could fix that with the 100 Watt Fosi amp, I think. I might just do that for my speakers out on the deck that need more volume. I have zero complaints about this product. One of the Google Nests needed to be upstairs from the Fosi, and through three walls, so Bluetooth was too unreliable to that mini speaker. So, I put the Google Mini in my equipment closet. I'm not sure what Bluetooth version this uses or what Mini uses, but perhaps a higher version of Bluetooth might make a more reliable, longer distance connection. I do have suggestions for people trying what I did. First, I can't get the audio to sync between the speakers. I've tried the Google Home app adjustments, but they only go up to 200 milliseconds, and my delays seem to be over a second. So, if synchronized audio is your requirement, then you might want to gang multiple pairs of speakers together to do so (but the drawback would be you can't individually direct a specific room to a specific source). Second, be patient while the Google Home app connects to the device. The audio settings only fully appear when the Google Nest Mini is on the same network and is fully discovered. So, you'd think that you are not going to be able to configure the Nest Mini to push it's audio out by Bluetooth, but 10 seconds later, those settings show up. My recommendation to Fosi would be to a) provide larger sizes that incorporate multiple speaker pairs to accommodate use cases like mine; b) integrate a Google Home product directly that makes the amplifier(s) directly addressable over wi-fi, Spotify, etc. (maybe even with some remote bluetooth mic to control it); and c) create a 5.1 channel solution to handle TV speakers with surround sound (I still need my amp for that, but I would love to leave a Fosi amp on all the time and not have to worry about turning my receiver off and on and having an IR amplifier to control my amp in the equipment closet. That would be the perfect solution (assuming you can deliver 5.1 channels via bluetooth). Maybe Fosi could even develop an integrated house/TV solution that makes my TV room speakers addressable via Google without my TV being on too :) Note: Yes, I do understand that Sonos and some others have products that specifically designed to do what I'm talking about. However, they have a shortage of product and it would take months to deliver, and I don't know if I could individually address each speaker pair like I can with the Google Nest Minis. In addition, I think they are way overpriced. It would have cost me $3,300 to do what I did for $300 here. I'm sure that Sonos has tackled the synchronization problem with their solution, but at this point, synchronized audio is not a $3000 problem for me. ... show more

  • Just got it, am impressed.
Ok so this is only a review after about an hour of using. I will come back and update this if I have any issues long term. I grew up on component stereo systems, nothing high end, but dad liked music and liked it to sound good. I’ve worked in acoustics and live sound and on and off for some time. I’m not saying I’m an audiophile and can hear the tiniest differences, but I’m no newbie to great sound. For various reasons my previous system and it’s pieces crapped out, we’ve been using Bluetooth speakers for too long. I snagged some Sony speakers from a pawn shop and needed an input/power source. I didn’t need a whole new receiver as we live in a rural area so. I real radio reception, we don’t have a surround sound anything, no record player currently, I just needed a simple amp thing. Reddit is where I found out about this little device. For $50 I was beyond skeptical and was still considering buying a receiver even though I felt like I didn’t need one. So I just decided to give this a try. Color me impressed. This little box is driving these sonys just fine. Bluetooth connection seems decent. This thing is so small. Construction seems great, knobs are nice. Nothing feels cheap. I’m definitely interested in other Fosi products now. ... show more

  • Windows 10 Bluetooth issues
I bought this to turn an old center channel speaker into a bluetooth speaker. The amp does a great job as an amplifier, no complaints there as there is no hiss, hum, static, or discernible distortion. Build quality / finish seems very high for the price, knobs feel fantastic and not cheap at all. Bluetooth Issues I have three different Windows 10 computers that all have the same problem with this amplifier, they connect over bluetooth, but the sound output device is unusable. I'm surprised there aren't a bunch of reviews and questions about this, but maybe I just got unlucky. I was able to find a fix, however, you must "disable Windows 10 absolute volume" (google this). After disabling that in the registry and rebooting, I was able to use the amplifier over bluetooth. My iphone and macbook work just fine out of the box. Notable mentions: - There is a tone that is played when a device connects to the amp over bluetooth. It's a very short and relatively quiet beep. My concern with this type of thing is that I'll always have it on and connected to a computer, if that computer should reboot overnight will it wake the dead? I don't think it'll be a problem. - You'll probably want the bass and treble knobs near the top center, but if those are the neutral positions, there are no detents to indicate that. - I opened it up and I can't see how they would route the audio output wires over the bluetooth antenna, so I wonder if they reworked the circuit board since the current top review calls this out. - The power supply is pretty large at around 50mm x 120mm, just as long as the amp and 2/3 as wide. - The amp is not bridgeable, so if you're looking to use this in a mono application as I am, you'll either need to sum the audio at the source or create a "mono summing cable". If your source is Windows or OSX, you can go into the accessibility settings and enable mono output for all audio. - Support: I emailed them about my bluetooth issues and they responded within 10 minutes, but their response did end up in my gmail spam folder. They were just asking for more info, but I'll see if they know about this bluetooth issue and the fix. Update: They don't seem to know about this and asked if I could provide a video showing how to fix it. I'm not going to go through the trouble of making that, so again just google "disable windows 10 absolute volume". - If you turn the amplifier off and back on, devices do not automatically reconnect over bluetooth. This may be a problem for my use case and I might have to have a script that will auto reconnect Windows to it. - AptX is not supported, but if you're buying this for critical listening you probably aren't using Bluetooth anyway. No regrets here, the sound quality with SBC is great and the quality of your source material will matter more. ... show more

  • Convenient
Got rid of our large oversized HD stereo receiver but retained the 13” corner horns. This thing is awesome. So small but with the Blue Tooth we play all our stuff from our devices. Too cool. The only downside was we had to get Jacks to attach to the speaker wires to plug into the device.Great investment. ... show more

  • Quite a bang for the buck
Came real quick - 8 days int'l, at a first glance the 9x12 cm box (hides under my palm :D ) provides quite a sound even through the BT - no hiss, no noise whatsoever. So far a suitable replacement for my Sherwood AX4050-R.
