The blades run very quietly, and backside tearout in plywood is negligible. Each blade is virtually hand-made. The plate is hand-tensioned (up to 15 minutes per blade), superior C-4 carbide teeth are hand-brazed to the plate, and the blade is straightened and restraightened multiple times throughout the process. Think of a Forrest blade as a tool in your shop, not an accessory. Forrest stands behind it's blades by offering a sharpening service that bring blades back to the exact tolerances offered in a new blade. And this same exacting service is available for other manufacturer's blades as well, so they should come back better than new. Forrest Woodworker 2 Saw Blade For Table Saws. With this one all purpose blade you can RIP & CROSSCUT 1" to 2" hardwood and softwood resulting in a smooth as sanded surface. This is, of course, the standard for general purpose blades. American-made, accurate, and plentiful. One thing of interest. They resharpen their own blades, which most people who own these know. There construction process is proprietary enough that sending it back to them to sharpen is wise. Unfortunately, I found an added benefit to their approach. They will not only sharpen at a reasonable rate, they will reattach and fix carbide blade tips if necessary. Having triggered my Sawstop and embedded the blade in the brake's aluminum block, I thought a new blade was needed. Instead, you pull the blade out of the block and send it back to Forrest. They replace broken teeth, check the plate for flatness, resharpen, and send it back to you, all for a lot less than a new blade. Cost effective, as well as giving you a great blade. ... show more

This blade among other Forrest blades has the quality that seems unmatched by any others. It comes in a cardboard box, covered in oil, and has a silicon-like tooth protector on it (see pictures). Most people compare these to Freud - In my personal opinion, after using both for 10+ years now: Frued seems to come out on top in cutting quality every time, but keep in mind, I am judging this by the manufacturers statements of exactly each blades intentions on the purpose it was built for. Frued makes this clear, says what types of wood, the type of cut, depth of cut, and even ideal saw HP. When I follow these guidelines, I find that Freud is unmatched. Glue ready, glass-like cuts. Not only that, they seem to even run quietest compared to others, and that's a plus too. Forrest blades - twice the price, but is it worth it? My experience is that the blades do have amazing quality, yet do not have nearly a descriptive range of what they are intended for. They do say what type of cut, and they also explain the blade is meant to be RAISED HIGHER for ideal cuts. They even come with a full walkthrough of how to eliminate tearout and friction burning. What they do not say is "meant for x type of woods of x height through x height and x HP saws" etc. I do find that I get amazing quality cuts overall, and the carbide teeth are of better long lasting quality than Freud has to offer. I have never chipped a tooth in a Forrest WW2, but I have in Freud multiple times. Also, Forrest will resharpen and fix/balance the blades for their entire life, which says a lot! Overall; Freud seems to come out on top when using the exact purpose of the blade as described. They will not stand by their blades or resharpen or fix them, but do have amazing quality for price. Forrest also offers amazing cuts, back their blades for their lifetime, and have been put to the test for multiple decades. Either is a great choice, but Freud has the same if not better quality cuts for half the price, but less longevity. ... show more

You don't realize how great a great blade is until you use a great blade. I've been pretty impressed with the two diablo blades that I've been using ( Freud D1050X Diablo 10-Inch 50-tooth ATB Combination Saw Blade & Freud D1060X Diablo 10-Inch 60 Tooth ATB Fine Finish Saw Blade ) that replaced the factory blades, and they worked well. This blade however has basically replaced both of these, and done so with results that rival the edge left by a properly tuned jointer with new blades. I've used it ripping 12/4 poplar, 6/4 hard maple and a bunch other of 4/4 hardwoods with outstanding results and I've had no tearout so far. The blade works so well at cross cutting and ripping it's left me curious as to how well Forrest blades that are not "general purpose" work for their intended tasks. I'll likely be asking for those as a gift because I can't justify purchasing them when I already own this outstanding example of a saw blade. I didn't know that it was normal to get excited about using a sawblade, but this blade really is best of the best. After reading the reviews from the "Master Craftsman" who swear by this blade, I decided to give it a try even though at first glance it seems pricey. After unpacking the well packaged blade (save the box it came it for later use) and installed it on the table saw. It was time to put it though the test. Let me say this - it's worth every penny and then some. To say it's a smooth cut is an understatement. It's like cutting butter with a hot knife and little to no sanding is required afterward. Can't say that about a cheap blade. I'm sold and will replace every blade with a Forrest. ... show more

Been a long time user of Forrest blades, mostly the Chopmaster and the woodworker IIs - I keep trying other brands to "save a buck" - I like the Freud blades too but they are pricy enough ($50 -60) that I'd rather keep getting my Forrest blades sharpened ($25 -$40) and throw them back on the saws, they simply are the best saw blades I have used in my shop for the last 20 years and their sharpening services are also the best place that I have had my blades refurbished. I've tried other local sharpening services and Forrest is the most consistent in that department too. It's a pain to ship things off to them and wait but I know I'll get back a blade that is good as new or very close to it. I've had my Freuds sharpened as well but they seem to loose their edge quickly and dull out after sharpening and the price of sharpening is close enough that I'd rather buy a new blade.... ... show more

I have used the best Italian Blades for years and had satisfactory results. When I needed to replace my last blade, I decided to try The Forrest Woodworker II after hearing how well they performed.
