I recently used the FORLAND Plumbing Access Panel for a project where I needed to hide some water lines behind a new wall I built. This little panel turned out to be a great solution for my needs. It's made of plastic, which I thought might be flimsy, but it's surprisingly sturdy. It's not something I'll need to open often, but it feels like it can handle being opened and closed occasionally without any issues. The installation was a breeze too. I just used some adhesive caulk to glue it to the drywall, and it fit perfectly. If you don't use the adhesive caulk (sold separately) then it can slide out of the drywall opening pretty easily. The wide surface flange is great because it covered up the drywall edges neatly. The way you open it is pretty straightforward. You just need a flat-blade screwdriver to pry it open. The panel door can be removed completely, which is handy if you need more room to work. I don’t plan to open it much, but it’s good to know that I can easily access the water lines if I need to. I was also pleasantly surprised by how well it blended in with my wall. It's got a textured surface, so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I haven’t painted over it yet, but I'm pretty sure it'll take paint well and blend in even more. The only tiny issue was that it didn’t come with the tape for adhering it to the wall, as mentioned in the listing. But that wasn’t a big deal since I had the adhesive caulk anyway. I'm really happy with the FORLAND Access Panel. It's a simple, effective solution for hiding plumbing or wiring without creating an eyesore. My house has been under renovation for all most a year now. I ordered this access panel in case I need at access the hot water line in the future. The panel is pretty nice quality and durable enough for years of use. Instead of using screws to install, it has to be affixed with an adhesive sealant. The hinges are pretty good, but I am cautious not to put too much weight on the flap when it is open. It is made of plastic and with too much weight I’m sure it would eventually break. This access panel installs easily and offers great access to my sprinkler line main shutoff valve in my basement ceiling. The hinged opening panel opens and swings down easily for instant access. The instructions say the door can be removed from its hinges, but it feels like I could break a hinge pin if I tried taking it off; so, I haven't tried taking the door off it hinges. The unit also did not come with adhesive tape like it says in the installation guide, so I used hook/loop tape pads to affix it to the ceiling after having cut a hole in the drywall. ... show more

The unit is plastic and fine if access is only occasionally needed. The surface flange (the one you see when the panel is installed is plenty wide. The panel is attached by gluing it in place, I used some adhesive caulk to glue it to the drywall. The portion that extends into the opening is barely 1/2" wide so it covered most of my drywall edge. To open the panel you pry it open with a flat-blade screwdriver. Once open, the access panel door can be removed entirely if you need that kind of access. In my case I don't intend to open the panel frequently, but I could see it getting a little rough if you had to pry it open all the time. I'd buy this panel again for a similar use, but would stick to a metal door with a latch if I needed more frequent access ... show more

Great access panel by Forland. I got this to upgrade a small access panel for my master bathtub to give more access. The original was only 6x9, but there's hardly enough space to get in and do anything, so the 14x14 will be plenty of room. It's hinged which is great, so the movable cover won't get lost or broken and the surface is slightly textured which takes the paint very well. I painted a single coat of the wall color and it matches the wall very closely. A second coat after it's installed and secured to the drywall with some adhesive caulk, it'll be finished and looking great. I'll be getting a second one for another spot in the house to give me access to a master shut-off valve. Very happy with this access panel. ... show more

I needed an access door for the wall behind my shower since the builder installed the shut off valves in the wall and sheet rocked over it. I used a stud finder to find the right spacing for the install. I marked the wall with the template and used a rotary tool to cut the sheet rock. After a pre-fit, I applied some adhesive caulk to the sides and installed. I used light clamps overnight for holding while it dried. To open you put a flat head screwdriver in a slot and pry slightly to remove the panel. This was perfect for my situation since I don't expect to be using the access often. ... show more

Happy with this product. The description photos are helpful for assessing the dimensions (internal edge and external covering surface area) of which size you will need. Texture is good to paint over so that it blends in with whatever paint color your wall is.

Yes I would buy this again. I'm using this to cover a hole in the wall in a closet where I needed access to wires. It is basically a piece of polystyrene, but it doesnt feel cheap, it is sturdy enough for its purpose. - The hinge works well. - the door snaps shut tightly - It is thin enough to be unobtrusive, but thick enough to be sturdy enough that Im not worried that it will break. - the texture pleasantly surprised me, it is not a smooth surface; it is textured to look and feel like a painted wall. This will make it blend in with the wall better, especially after I paint it. Only 1 small negative, the listing says there is tape for adhering it to the wall. That was not included with mine. Not a big deal, I have adhesive caulk. Worth mentioning though. ... show more
