  • Get this, at one level or another, it does feel gooooood.
Oh, yeah! Like I said before in my review of the Due North Foot Rubz Foot Hand and Back Massage Ball (Green), no one product out there can completely cure you of plantar fasciitis or remove heel spurs. That being said, products like this Foot Log can ease foot pain by stimulating the surface of the foot and somehow getting into the contours and curves of the arch and sides to make your feet feel better. Keep in mind that you should be mobile enough (move your knees) to roll the Foot Log on the floor otherwise, its effects will be greatly diminished. But even then, just pressing the log against the arch of the foot feels damn good. Here's what to do (very similar to using a frozen bottle of water): Place the Foot Log on a flat surface and while sitting down, roll the log on the floor until you stretch out your tendons and affect other areas of your feet that may benefit from being stimulated by the blunt rubber cylinders that stick out from the log itself. See it as the Foot Log stabbing you with love. Just be aware that the cylindrical protrusions will feel weird initially, and eventually may actually numb the soles of your feet a bit, although not as much as the frozen water bottle mentioned above. Where this is far better than the bottle is that you do not have to numb the bottom of your foot by freezing it, which is a rather painful thing to do, before you get the massage effects from rolling your feet with the Log. If you have time, and the inclination, read the accompanying little book. If not, just rock and roll. Would I buy it again? Pfft, most definitely! Since I cannot have a foot masseuse ready at the go, this will have to do. I'm thinking of getting more for different rooms in the house and even for work. Did it remove my plantar fasciitis? I don't know because my case may be more serious than mere PF. Does it feel good even when you are growing little devil claws under your feet (aka, heel spurs)? Hell yeah! ... show more

  • great item, i love it!
i purchased this from amazon after seeing it at a Healing Arts Connection reflexology workshop in Glendale Arizona. at the workshop it felt great to use and everybody liked it, but when in a different place, well, i just never really trust how i'm going to react to the way something performs until i use it in my own environment. when it arrived and i got to use it at home, it was as good as i remembered it being at the workshop. the nubs are firm but fairly soft rubber with...if i remember correctly...flat tips, so you can really dig in with them, depending on how much pressure you use. you can roll your feet on the Foot Log, or roll it between your hands. usually, items have a hard time living up to their advertisements, if they are to be "experienced." the question becomes not only how well the item was constructed, but does it even closely live up to the advertised experience? this item comes through, and has a pretty good chance of coming through for a lot of people. what i think would be a nice addition/change to the product would be to have an open center lengthwise through the Foot Log, and then, similar to an item referenced in Fitzgerald's 1917 (or 1915?) book on Zone Therapy, a nylon cord could be run lengthwise through the log so it could be used with the feet raised in mid-air with the arms providing varying degrees of tension. not sure if i explained that well enough. if you read Fitzgerald's book, you will see the item i am talking about. that would be an additional great way to use this item. i tried to wrap cords around the ends so i could roll my feet on the log while they were raised into the air, but it didn't work well that way because the end pieces don't roll independently of the log, so it seems that the cord would really need to run lengthwise through an opening in the center as referenced above, but i imagine it would be easy to manufacture with that small change. it is fantastic the way it is, and what i am suggesting could be a nice addition by letting it be used on the feet while laying in bed, or it would even be an additional form of tension control while using it with feet on the floor. ... show more

  • Great relief for the feet.
This is such a wonderful product. Easy to use. Can work on any portion of the bottom of the feet. Can be used to a massager for the back, if one is lucky enough to have a person around that is willing to roll it on the back. I love it. Very durable!!! Nice informative book included that describes foot ailments. ... show more

  • Seems to work well!
I have had problems with plantar fasciitis in the past, and it can take forever to get rid of - of course if you are reading this you likely know that. I am a runner and am training for a 50-mile race. My feet have been feeling pretty good, but when I started to feel the beginnings of arch tightening and heel pain, I knew I needed to take action or my ultra-marathon plans would be derailed. I have had the foot log for about two weeks, and so far am really happy. I use it before bed and first thing when I wake up and the symptoms I was feeling have disappeared, and I have been able to continue my training without any slow down or breaks. ... show more

  • Still the best at what it's supposed to do!
This costs double, I think, what my first one cost me 15+ years ago, but it's the Goldilocks of foot rollers--not too hard (like the wood ones, ouch!) and not too soft, where there's no real effect. Using it every night just before sleep insures against jumpy legs, and warms my feet nicely. Absolutely worth the $$. ... show more
