Assembly was a challenge but that is mainly due to quality of parts. Some of the parts were not labeled and some holes were not predrilled for small but critical parts like hinges so it took longer to assemble. Arrived with damage to the cabinet top but I’ll make it work. The facades of the cabinet are not wood at all but thin MDF, so the wood beams of the whole cabinet don’t have much support between them. Definitely have a drill handy or else this will take forever to assemble and likely come out unusable. This is a good piece if you’re like me and looking something to hold you over for a while and not expecting a ton of use, just an option for an unexpected guest. If you’re looking for something that will last for a long time or withstand heavy use I would definitely pay more for something of higher quality & pre assembled. ... show more

The bed is exactly as described and I'm very happy with it. The pieces were carefully labeled and it wasn't difficult to put together. That said, even though it's easy to assemble it takes some time to do so. A battery powered screwdriver (or drill with Phillips tip) will save you so much work! Pay careful attention to the orientation of each piece, observing where the instructions show holes for screws, etc. I did wish the instruction illustrations were bigger and clearer so hole orientation was more obvious. A note to those who have asked if the desk can be oriented to the left. If you're willing to drill new holes and leave the right side ones empty, you could build this unit with the desk to the left. Reminder: you'll void your warranty and won't be able to return the item if you do this. ... show more

Lots of parts so be patient but felt like it was good quality and instructions were decent. The paint was a bit on the thin side so ended up repainting but really love this piece.

You need time to assemble, when done work great. Attractive, easy to use very comfortable to sleep on.I believe the instructions need more details to ease assembly. Manufacture is extremely helpful with any questions or problems. I highly recommend this unit.
