  • Not Perfect, but Not Bad, Either...
I bought this on the advice of the author of a popular android emulator, and have not been disappointed. How I rated this product 4 stars (Amazon): Material Quality, 4/5 Battery Life, 5/5 Value for Money: 3/5 AVERAGE: 4Stars How I rated this product 3.5 stars (Personal): Material/Build Quality, 4/5 Battery Life, 5/5 Ease-of-Use, 5/5 Features, 3/5 Form Factor, 5/5 Button Layout, 4/5 Responsiveness, 4/5 Device Convenience, 1/5 Needed Extra Components, 2/5 Bugs, 4/5 Overall Value, 3/5 AVERAGE: 3.63Stars, rounded to nearest quarter-star: 3.5Stars ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Material/Build Quality: 4/5 - The telescopic portion of the controller flexes considerably -- especially while playing fighting and bulletstorm games -- and can really throw off your rhythm. This is much less noticeable with shorter phones, but still there. My S10 comes in at 5 7/8", and the flex is quite pronounced during games like SoulCalibur and Xevius. Battery Life: 5/5 - I've played on this thing from the time I opened my eyes until I laid down and closed them again, and never got a complaint about a low battery. I think it might run on the delight it generates. Ease-of-Use, 5/5 - The instructions -- both in the booklet as well as within the app (which the booklet makes obtaining very easy) -- are straightforward, easy to understand, and (more importantly) easy to follow. The App walks you through the process from start to playing your first game. Even switching to classic (read:XInput) mode has a wizard with examples of what you need to do. I play mostly on emulators, so I stay primarily in classic/XInput mode. Features: 3/5 - This controller lacks vibration support, USB/audio access to your phone, click-down thumbsticks (made up for with extra buttons), and axis-driven triggers (L2+R2). The app lacks the ability to switch to FlyDigi mode for games/apps that require it, then switch back when they're exited. The app also requires location permission to operate when there is absolutely no reason for it to. This is of great concern to me, though not enough to not use the controller. The developer really needs to address, this, though, because FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE, THIS IS A REASON NOT TO BUY THIS PRODUCT. Form Factor: 5/5 - Turn your phone into a PSP, what more needs to be said? It looks great holding my S10 and absolutely amazing holding my daughter's LG Stylo 4, which fills it perfectly. Button Layout: 4/5 - Personally, I don't care for the placement of C/Z or the FlyDigi button, which I thought would be good to map to exit my emulator, but it would appear is strategically placed just the right distance from the d-pad to make that a trap. Responsiveness: 4/5 - All I really have to compare this to are the XBox One and Dual Shock 3 controllers, which this tails *just* behind in responsiveness. No real complaints, here. Device Convenience: 1/5 - Everything from not getting the feeling the USB port doors "latched" when you close them to the majority of phone owners not being able to get to their USB and audio ports to having to tether the controller to the phone to "activate" it (because, apparently, its device id changes from time to time?) leaves you feeling fairly inconvenienced when it comes to the device, itself. The pros outweigh the cons, in my opinion, though. Needed Extra Components: 2/5 - I have an S10, which uses USB-C, and had to supply my own jumper cable for "activating" the controller in Classic mode. Also going to list this here, as it seems entirely unnecessary: The app *requires* location be on for absolutely no reason. I consider this an extra, unnecessary component. I am currently using a location spoofing service on my phone while I use the app because where I use it from is none of the developer's concern unless I willingly volunteer it. Taking away my choice in that regard is unacceptable. Bugs: 4/5 - If you try to launch a game from the app that uses FlyDigi mode while the controller is already in Classic mode, interesting things happen. It actually works...for the most part. It won't break anything, so try it. It's quite a ride... Overall Value: 3/5 - This is available for considerably less elsewhere, but would take a few weeks to arrive. For about ten bucks less, you can get a similar one without the location-intrusive app and with click-down thumbsticks, though I've no idea how well it's touchscreen mapping works. This is the unit that was suggested to me, this is the unit I bought, and I am overall happy with my purchase. Would I buy it again? Not straight away. I would check out a couple of it's competitors first, and see how they stack up. Do I regret this purchase? Absolutely not. FlyDigi, you would clean house with per-phone adapters that ran USB and Audio off either side of phones that need it, or with a version of this product that would support the user plugging in L-shaped cables for both. If you could manage to make the unit more rigid when extended, that would also be great. ... show more

  • About Flydigi Wee Controller
I actually like this flydigi Wee controller as it is one of my fav ones, besides my Gamesir UsbC/ Bluetooth controllers I have also. My only complaint I had about this one since I received it is that I notice 3 buttons will not seem to work period (z,c, start)... No matter what I do or try (may just be a defected one) but overall it's one my favs. that I highly recommend, and I will repurchase again 👍 #JustMyHonestOpinion ... show more

  • Almost solid... minus driver connectivity
While I do appreciate the design and build quality of this controller it comes with one caveat. That bring the fact that this controller isn't detected as a typical controller. Like for example, If you connect a PS4 or an Xbox controller with Bluetooth games will detect right away what mappings are needed and everything should work right away. However, this controller doesn't seem to work like that. Instead, it works by placing custom virtual buttons overlayed by the Flydigi game center app on top of the virtual buttons in which ever game your playing. This is a little disappointing as this means the controller won't work with something like Parsec. Not too mention if you try using the controller out of the box inputs don't seem to be mapped correctly. Buttons act as stick inputs and sticks act as button inputs. I'm not sure if there is something defective with my controller as It came like this out of the box. This sort of thing isn't communicated very well in the manual or advertising, so I have to deduct some points for that. Otherwise, it seems to be a good controller for the money. If only for this one aspect I feel is an oversight. ... show more

  • Garbage
This thing worked well for a few months, then suddenly, after the product support window closed, it just stopped working properly. It will work for Call Of Duty, but it requires a download of their app and button mapping. Even after you do that, you will still need to use your touch screen at many points during the game. Transitioning back and forth between the touch screen and controller will also cause a, sometimes, severe delay in the response from imput into the controller...which is not good when you are standing still, unable to move, during a fire fight. Experienced lots of glitches during game play. It would start firing my gun randomly and would sometimes switch my gun with one i walked over, without me pressing anything. It was extremely annoying to constantly be losing hard to get weapons or having to back track in order to get my guns back. The controller would often require having to "double tap" the directional controls, because it would start you moving in the opposite direction. Aiming with this controller was inaccurate and hard to stay on target. After the first controller died I bought a second one, hoping it was a one off problem....it wasn't. Less than a month after getting the controller, it began experiencing major issues. It would work properly, unless you expanded the controller, to put your phone in it. The right joystick would constantly look "up" and you would not be able to correct it, without having to flex the controller or manipulating the controller housing. Also had issues with one of the buttons not working, as well as all of the other issues described above. Fool me once, shame on me...not going to fool me twice, I immediately returned it for a refund. I would not recommend this product! Don't waste your money! ... show more
