Frequently asked questions

The primary function of the Flycam 5000 kit is to provide a stabilization system for handheld cameras. It helps to achieve smooth, professional-quality shots by dampening the movements of the operator. The kit includes a comfort arm vest and other accessories that ensure precise balancing and fatigueless and smooth operations.

The Quick Shock Absorption feature of the Flycam 5000 stabilizer is designed to absorb any sudden shocks and vibrations that might result from the operator's movements or other external factors. This results in smoother and more stable video footage, regardless of the shooting conditions.

The Flycam 5000 kit comes with several additional items. The Comfort Arm Vest aids in evenly distributing the weight of the camera, thereby reducing operator fatigue. The Free Quick Release enables users to quickly install and remove cameras. The Arm Brace supports the stabilizer and adds stability. The Table Clamp helps securely hold the stabilizer when not in use.

The Flycam 5000 stabilizer is compatible with a wide variety of handheld cameras. However, it's always advisable to check the specific weight capacity and compatibility information provided by the manufacturer to ensure that it fits with your particular camera model.

  • WOW!! Good value for money on this investment!!
The media could not be loaded. This package included vest, arm, and stabilizer. Its a quarter of the cost of my other steadicam from 10 years ago and far better workmanship. They even include lots of extra parts and 4 of the not cheap to replace camera screws which is always a nice bonus. Far less weight than my other setup which is nice because I use the Black Magic Cinema Camera which is not a light unit and I can run it with half the balance weight making less stress on my back. ... show more

  • Steaming Piece of Garbage- Genuine Steadicam Owner's Thoughts
Two years ago I ordered this flycam for three reasons: 1- It had a vest and an arm, 2- it was cheap, and 3- I wanted a better stabilizer. I wish I never even considered it. The build quality is horrible. Multiple screws fell off the vest after less than a month of use leaving the waist buckle hanging on by a thread. This hindered the performance. The post would often slip turning the bottom weights rendering my static balance useless. The stage was another horrible design. Only the the most coarse adjustments could be made making the static balance almost impossible to achieve well with my 8 pound camcorder. Now you might think this is because I haven't practiced with the rig enough, or I wasn't doing something right. I thought that too so I held off writing this review. It was only after I read the Steadicam operator's handbook and invested in a genuine Steadicam (an Aero 30) that I knew that this particular system was the problem. I wouldn't even considering selling this or even giving it away to someone else it's so poor. Here's the best advice I can give you: If you want to get into the world of stabilizers first read the Steadicam operators handbook , and then invest in a cheap Glidecam or used steadicam pilot first to see if you like it. If you do, take the leap into the actual world of Steadicam. Stay away from Flycam and most other knockoffs at all costs (you'll thank me later). ... show more

  • Sending right back
Sending this back today. There are zero instructions and it's hard to find anything on YouTube for the set-up. Once setup, it's incredibly uncomfortable and didn't work well at all with the larger cinema camera ( I have a Blackmagic 6k pro ). And I wasn't even using a large lens...just a smaller 50mm prime lens...this entire set-up was just a fail, unfortunately. ... show more

  • Buy this kit - it's an awesome value - still.
This it's the kit if you want to really use a steady cam system. Great for DSLR videographers. I don't care how light your rig is, it gets heavy when flying these shots. Then you strip your rig down further, compromising something. This has a forearm support for light and or quick uses. Plus it has the vest for actually filming steady shots for any length of time. Everything you need is here-including extras. The case is perfect for the rig. The only miss - the screw at the connection where the plate attaches to the shaft. That could be better. That's about it. That is all that needs improvement. Okay, maybe a magic material around the padding that would keep you from sweating even on the hottest of days - who wouldn't want that? Update. Still good. The balancing plate can be updated, but is still pay easy to dial in. There are definitely worse out there. The hearing is holding up well. I know motorized electric gimbals are all the rage. But these type still take no batteries and are completely reliable. A characteristic worth it's weight in gold when filming some shots. If your final glitches or runs out of juice, it can run your shooting days and cost you tons of time, money, or both. I usually pay more for lighter over heavier, but never at the expense of dependability. Outlet brand names are nicer, but I don't fly often enough to pay to appreciate/justify the difference. ... show more

  • This is a Great Stabilizer if you practice with it
This is a Great Stabilizer if you practice with it. I've been using it for about a month now and every shoot I do the footage is smoother and better then before. The product is lightweight and easy to strap on if you have someone to help at first. I used it this last weekend for 3+ hours without needing to take a break and would not have been able to do it without the Vest and Arm to distribute the weight as evenly as it does. ... show more

Great Product for the price! Well made! You will need to practice, practice, practice stabilizing it if you are new to this type setup. It definitely has taken my business to the next level both in quality and customer presentation.
