  • Fly5D 74 Pcs Car Body Paintless Repair Removal Tools Automotive Door Ding Dent Silde Hammer Glue Pu
Size: all in one kit
I purchased the 74 pcs set. I noticed the reviews were for many different sets. That almost makes the reviews worthless because you do not know what the review is referring to. This is one of the few sets that include a light board. I realized that a light board would be needed to see the dent and know what and where to work. However, the light was a bit of a let down. It was not really bright enough. The 2 LED light strips are located on the sides of the housing and are facing to the opposite side. So the light is not directly facing out of the lens. Only the side reflection of light goes out the lense. And it goes out both sides, the line side and the yellow side. That is why it is not bright. After I finished some work on my car I later modified the light and improved it. I took the light assembly apart and put a piece of tin foil on the yellow side to reflect all light out the lense with the lines. This greatly improved the light coming out on the line side. It was a brighter light and easier to see. If I did this over I would buy a cheap reflection board first. Then later buy a better light, like a elimident light. The light board suction cup is ok. It is sticky and holds to the car well but not as well as the pump suction cups. One issue is that after placing the light and clamping it down, it will rotate when you let go. You need to position the suction based on it rotating. It only rotates about 15 degrees or so then it will hold. So you can work with it. The light is secured to the suction with a screw, it looks like it will hold with no problem. Before starting on my car I decided to practice first. I had a frig in my basement that had a few small dents, like hail size dents and a larger, deeper dent. Surprisingly the smaller dents came out quickly and look really good. The larger dent I worked on for several hours and could not get it to move. I didn't break any plastic tabs trying but I think it might require a different tool. I did try the Gold colored puller and the slider hammer. The slide hammer seemed to do the least. With the Gold puller I could at least pull the metal a little. The issue I had was that the dent was in the corner and the Gold puller did not work well for a corner. Part of the slide hammer issue is that the dent was on the door and the door attempts to open when you pull the slide hammer. I did try to lock the door shut with a tight strap but no luck. The Gold colored aluminum puller is the one I used for a small hail dent on my car roof. It worked really well, I removed most of the dent with a couple pulls. On the last pull I could still see a very small deflection but by the time I cleaned off the pull tab and was ready I could not find it. After spending 15 minutes looking for it I decided I would stop with what I had. The result here was really good, not perfectly eliminated but so hard to see that I felt I fixed it to an acceptable level. I pulled a small dent in my door near the body line. This dent came out by about 90%. There is still some sign of a dent in the light reflection but I didn't want to chance it. I'll wait till I get a little more proficient before going further on that dent. I did make it look a lot better. I only notice this dent when I look closely when the car is in the sun light. I'm good with the results. I didn't break any of the plastic pull tabs. I did notice that some tabs pulled better than others. And some tabs are hard to get the glue off of them. I think the blending hammer is not that good. I tried it on the frig and it took some small pieces of paint off. I would not want this on my car so will not use it for that. I think the surface of the hammer head needs to be mirror smooth. I ended up buying another hammer that has a mirror head and it works really well. The glue gun is ok, not high quality but it works. The knock downs are questionable. I tried them all several times and I am not achieving the results I want. I'll probably purchase a better tool. In the end, I think if I did the purchase over I would skip the light board and get a reflection board, at least it works in the sun and you can add your own light to reflect it when needed inside the garage. Actually the only things I would buy from this kit is the glue gun, gold puller, slide hammer, small rubber ended hammer, pulls tabs, glue sticks, and red hand puller. Then I would buy a reflection board and a better light. Also, I would buy a better blending hammer and better knock downs. There are better kits on the web than this one. You need to search on PDR and go to one of the sites. They don't sell the better tools on Amazon, that I could find. But, the cost of the better tools is really high. I feel that the PDR experts are switching from dent fixing to tool selling. A blending hammer for $170 dollars sounds too high. Some places sell the Gold puller for over a hundred. I assume it would be better but not $100 better. This Gold puller was sufficient. If you decide to try PDR, make sure to practice on something that does not matter first. You can make your car dent worse very quickly. I worked on a basement frig and an older metal file cabinet. Then I bought a really cheap car door to practice with. That was really helpful. I found out quickly how a dent can get out of hand. Luckily that was just for practice. Some dents take a little skill and the only way to get that is to practice. But it is something that can easily be done. Also note that if a car was repainted the paint might be easily pulled off using glue. I had put some electrical tape on a piece of my car roof that was repainted several years ago and surprisingly removing the tape took some paint off. The factory paint job is much stronger and that is the intended paint for this type of repair. If you are not sure check the car closely to see if it was repainted. You can often tell near the edges. Overall, highly recommend to anyone with smaller dents and willingness to practice. I found it easy to pick up but I did spend some time practicing, and making some mistakes too that I learned from. ... show more

  • Light board arrived broken and never lit up
Size: all in one kit
Bought 74 piece kit, the light board never would power up and trying to get customer service is basically nonexistent at this point. Will update further once I get a light board and try the rest of the tools ***UPDATE**** Initially I was disappointed but after Linda emailed me and offered to make things right I decided I’d give them a shot and I’m not disappointed! I got a replacement lightboard and some extra supplies to make up for the inconvenience AND a personal letter with an apology! Honestly, integrity and quality at an affordable price guarantees I’ll be coming back for additional supplies as I build up my business. Oh yeah, all this was handled during the Christmas shopping season so if you’re looking for a vendor that’s gonna make sure you’re getting your moneys worth just put that stuff in your cart so we keep these people around for us! ... show more

The only problem I have is you can put a battery in the light but there's nothing to tell you what type will work.

  • Could be much better product and the seller could have responded
Size: all in one kit
I took a chance and purchased "Used, Good Condition" DO NOT DO THAT WITH THIS PRODUCT!!! If you are going to purchase this kit, know it has many flaws and is pretty low quality build and the seller DOES NOT RESPOND!!! I received the USED kit, expecting a damaged box but was welcomed with a broken tab puller that the adjustment knob was stripped out and unusable, There were 6 broken tabs, 2 missing tabs and a couple other missing pieces. (That's on Amazon, not the seller and should have been better inspected and described) I made it work for what I needed right away. After reaching out to the seller 4 different times through Amazon and the sellers website without response, I decided to return the item as soon as I could. All the seller had to do is respond in how to fix the problem but I received NOTHING!! After not getting a response, the seller reached out to me saying they were giving me a "special to me, arm rest protector" WTF? No Thanks! I would not suggest purchasing from Fly5D. Oh yeah, Did I say the PDR glue is also bad? I heated the hood, used Fly5D glue from the kit and waited a proper amount of time in the pull. The glue either pulled the paint off the hood (Bad Paint, I know) or the glue would not release. I used alcohol, 98%, 93% and Isopropyl and nothing would get the glue to release. I had to heat the glue back up with more glue and it finally came off the paint without damaging it further. Save your money and frustration, Spend a little more and go one step up with Super PDR. The difference in the product is amazing and available at the same price point. I also understand they will respond too. Have fun and go Un-Dent some metal ... show more
