Screw the mount to box, connect wires, twist on the light. Easy peasy. This light comes with a remote (AAA batteries not included) to control brightness, color temperature, night light. The remote is very easy to figure out and has a storage base that can be hung on the wall. Make sure you use the screws for the wall mount that come with it as the remote will NOT fit in the base with round head screws. I am very impressed with the brightness, features and versatility of this light. 3 color temperatures can be selected at whatever brightness you like via the remote. It will store the light mode you last shut it off as long as you don't toggle the light switch. If you toggle the light switch off/on within 2 seconds it will cycle temperatures. Just read the instructions. There is a night light around the top that can serve many different applications. Light is super bright at highest setting and comfortable at lower setting. I used a pair of these to replace two "eyeball" lamps over a fireplace. The major selling point for me was the upwards facing lights, which are quite wonderful. They add a great accent and some useful light, although I wouldn't count on that feature really lighting up the room. I made some mounting plates for the base that allowed easy attaching to the sheetrock around the original can. I think trying to use the can itself would have been a pain.
