  • Truly blown away!!!
I bought the flowbee because every time I went to a hair salon to get a haircut and style, they could never get it the exact way I wanted. I wear my hair in a fohawk style and for some reason, hair stylists that have cut my hair could not get it the way I wanted. I went to 4 different salons before buying the flowbee. The hair stylists would do a decent job, but never exact. So I came to Amazon and kept wondering if I should purchase the flowbee. I read many reviews (Amazon and others), watched videos, and finally decided to give it a shot. My package arrived quickly and I was eager to test it out. Protective package was nice and all of the contents you see in the pictures of the product were included. I read over the instructions but unfortunately, I was not in need of a haircut yet, so I waited a few days. A few more days past and I was ready to give the flowbee a shot. I followed the recommendations that the manual suggests so as not to cut too much too quickly. I took my time and experimented and about an hour after starting my haircut, I was complete. To me, it was the perfect haircut and style(I trimmed the sides and along the neck/ear with clippers at the end). The flowbee got my hair exactly the way I wanted it. It's actually "fun" and a refreshing way to get a haircut. There was no mess to clean up and I came away with what I regarded as a perfect haircut. I think I read a review that said to be careful to not go too fast or not toss back a few before using the flowbee. However, I could not see how you could mess up a haircut with this system. It's practically impossible to not cut your hair correctly. All I have to say is that this thing is AMAZING!! I can't believe I waited so long to purchase this. I am completely sold on this Flowbee. No more making appts, no more getting mediocre haircuts, won't have to worry about driving to the salon, smelling all the chemicals used in salons, or paying 25+ dollars for a haircut that takes them 10 min to do. Now I have the Flowbee and can get a perfect haircut whenever my schedule permits!! I think once you've done your a hair a few times, you can easily do a complete haircut within 15 to 30 minutes. Also, I did my haircut and style completely by myself. However I could easily see a Mom/Dad using this on their kids or a buddy using this on their friends with perfect results. If you are even semi-good with your hands and are semi-creative, you should have no problem cutting your own hair with the Flowbee. I would recommend this product to any guy/girl out there that has a short to medium hairstyle. I don't think that this would be good for really long hair but I believe it covers this in the manual. If you are contemplating getting one, DO IT! It really does work!! If my Flowbee ever breaks for whatever reason, I will order one the very next day. ... show more

  • Amazing job and super easy
First time out of the box - it literally took me longer to set this up than to do a full haircut. Next time it will undoubtedly go faster. Before ordering I looked at several imitators, read a lot of reviews, and watched a ton of you-tube videos on the Flowbee. Nothing got as good reviews as the original Flowbee - no mention of it pinching or pulling hair or jamming. Then after ordering I waited impatiently for it to arrive. After it was dropped off, I wasted no time in jumping right in since I hadn't had a haircut in 6 weeks and was getting pretty shaggy. I have fine hair so the vacuum had no issues sucking it in. I started with the longer spacer for the top (as instructed in the videos to keep it from sucking in too much hair at once), switched to the medium spacer for the middle, and used the shorter spacer with the tapered foot for the back ear-to-ear. All techniques I learned in the various videos. And you ABSOLUTELY cannot get a more precise cut - every hair is EXACTLY the length you decide it should be. That's something my barber can never do. After a quick trim up around my ears, sideburns, and eyebrows with the pop-up trimmer on my electric razor I was done. I'll probably need to shave the back of my neck and I'll do that in the morning. The only problem I had was with the foot. At first I clipped this into the larger extension but it was very difficult to get loose because you can't pinch the sides in to remove it. So I put the regular foot into one of the short extensions and the tapered foot into the other and will just leave those there. There's nothing I'm going to trim that's shorter that this anyway. Some reviews mentioned that the spacers were difficult to work with but I'd rather have that than have one pop loose and I accidentally cut off too much hair. Other reviews mentioned the noise, but it's no louder than running a hair dryer. And one wondered why there wasn't a lot of hair in the vacuum. It basically pulverizes the hair into very short pieces as it slips through the blades - so there wont be any pieces left longer than say 1/4". I just emptied my vacuum and got tiny snippets and hair dust. And the last point people make is that it seems like a silly idea to cut your own hair. Well poppycock to that - it's easy to do and saved me $40 on the first haircut alone (two more will pay for it). And on my first try I really did gave myself a damn good haircut! After I get practiced it might be even better. The only bad news is that I have to wait a few weeks to play with ... er I mean USE it again! I'll make an appointment with my new barber Flow-ed (get it, Floyd the barber). ... show more

  • Nice Sharp Blades
Have used this particular flowbee once and it gave me an excellent precision cut that I’m happy with. No mess because the cut hairs are sucked into the attached vacuum cleaner. I’ve been cutting my hair with the flowbee system for decades - this is probably my 4th or 5th (or 6th?) flowbee. I did put a new bag in my vacuum cleaner first, so all systems were “go.” Use spacers as directed and be careful around your ears - I always use my fingers to fold my ears forward when I am using the flowbee near ears. For me, it’s a cost effective and practical solution and I usually get the exact cut I want. ... show more
