Things we liked about the lamp... 1) Dimming on/off switch is reachable while sitting (not near light head). 2) Common sense assembly. Directions tell you the sequence to assemble for reference, took 20 min. 3) Arrived in 2 days. Things we didn't like about the lamp... 1) The reading light switch is finnicky, in that it doesn't find the "on" function consistently. It's funky. 2) Plastic shades give it a "cheap" feel. However, if they were glass, it would probably tip over easily. 3) Made in China - couldn't find USA made for what we wanted. Overall, we are satisfied - got what we paid for. ... show more

Very easy to assemble and it comes with its own bulbs so no need to buy any! Base is pretty heavy so it help with keeping from knocking it over.

    • Practical and goes with everything
I really like this lamp, it does all you need in a lamp. The top light is bright enough to light the room but the direction and shade make it so there isn't a blaring light in your face, still soft. The reading lamp is also bright enough to read but not too bright. Being able to adjust it helps to make it point in the right direction or move it depending on the thickness or distance from your seat. I use the dimmer (only on the reading lamp not the top light) on low at night as an accent light. Its light and easy to put together (less then 5 mins) but is still sturdy. Ive put mine at the corner of my L shaped couch where my 3 year old runs by often and Im not worried it will fall at all. ... show more

It's good. Mine wasn't wobbly like I read in the other reviews. After tightening everything it's as solid as a broom stick mounted firmly into the weighted base. 5 stars.
