I really like these little shelves & they're perfect for my stairwell. I read the reviews before ordering, so adjusted the installation accordingly--- Here are a few helpful tips: 1) I used the measuring guideline but did not use the adhesive. I just adhered it the wall using 2 pieces of scotch tape. Because the measuring guide wasn't fully adhered to the wall, I just used a small nail & tapped a little hole through the measuring guide, removed the guide and drilled where my nail hole was. 2) I did find that the shelves tended to lean downward a bit, so I added a little felt dot under the metal bracket (at the bottom). It gave it just enough lift to make the shelves straight and isn't noticeable at all. ... show more

Shelves are nice. Installation needs to be quite accurate so studs/holes will line up. Template not 100% correct so measure actual parts for correct stub positions. Ironically, if the studs and shelf holes are perfectly aligned, the shelf can actually come loose as there isn't much to hold the shelf in place. I purpose offset the studs some so there is some interference fit to the shelf bracket creating some friction to prevent the shelf from sliding out. ... show more

We got these yesterday they look nice but if you put any type of pressure on them towards the front they do come loose from the wall. I now have two large holes in my wall that I have to plaster over now even with the wall anchor screws they have with the normal screws they don't give a secure hold.

Hi, the shelves look OK. The finish just white paint, but when you have books it looks fine. The shelf bracket has about 7 mounting holes - I made sure that 2 of them are in the studs - that added to the peace of mind. I ordered two of these shelves about 6 weeks apart - the second order came without hardware (anchors/screws). Good thing I have spares at home. ... show more

I wonder if this was tested by QA at all. The wall anchor breaks every time, not a single one was useful, and the nails were too small for the anchor. Made a mess in my wall just trying to install these shelves. I had to pay to get it fixed. Honestly it didn’t seem like it should be hard to install, but prepare your own wall anchors and nails if you’re gonna buy this. Otherwise, it didn’t look bad once installation was done. ... show more

These shelves are fine for what we needed them for. I figured Legos are fairly light since I saw the reviews about the shelves sagging. You have to give them a good whack to get the shelves to sit flush against the wall (I tested the bracket out on the shelves before putting them up and they were snug). I ended up using 1/8 toggle bolts instead of the mounting hardware that came with the shelves because these belong to a 4 year old boy. As far as the sturdiness of the brackets, one shelf was already sagging a tiny bit after mounting so I'm hoping these last. Otherwise they didn't budge when I put all the requested Lego sets on the shelves. I definitely would not trust the weight of books on these shelves though so they might end up being just for knickknacks as he gets older. ... show more

They’re nothing to write home about. The finish on them is okay. One of mine came scratched. Install wasn’t too hard but a little tricky to get them perfectly level. Overall, for the price, they’re not a bad choice. Just don’t expect the highest quality item.
