Summary: Sturdy, great looking, high weight capacity, memory functions, with bonus desk accessories.... all with an unbeatable price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Pros: - Affordable price. - High weight capacity. - Looks great. - All components are built with quality and seems to be durable. - Has casters - Has alot of very useful cable management accesories. Neutral: - The table and the parts are HEAVY. While it is possible to assemble the table by yourself (I did it myself), it would be much easier with a friend). Cons: - Assembly can be a bit difficult for starters, some of the pre-drilled holes are not lined up with the parts. The table also did not have pre-drilled holes for all of the parts. You DEFINITELY need a power drill for this (both to help drill in the bits for mis-aligned holes + drilling the bits into the table top where there arent pre-drilled holes). However, any affordably priced power drill should do (I used Black + Decker power drill in combination with a hand screw driver). Additional notes: I do hope Flexispot improves on the installation experience in the future. But even without it, in my humble opinion they simply cannot be beat right now in the market with their high quality product at such an affordable price. ... show more

I searched and researched for months looking for the right standing desk and finally decided on the FlexiSpot 55" EC5 3 Stages Dual Motor Electric Standing Desk and it does not disappoint. First off, I thought the size was a little unusual, but it turned out to be the happy medium between the 70"+ desks and the 40" ones. The desk top is a single, sturdy piece with a nicely textured, slightly glossy top, mine is the black lightly-textured surface. I am most pleased with the assembly, motors and controller and their customer support. It took me 90 minutes from opening the box to raising and lowering the desk! All the necessary pieces were included as well as a few extra pieces just in case. The also provided some hardware for cable management. The pieces all fit together well and the instructions were clear enough, the most difficult part is the weight of the leg/motor assemblies (this is a good thing though). Be sure to get some help turning the desk upright, it is a heavy piece of furniture. As I mentioned above, those heavy motors and legs make for a smooth and quiet raising and lowering experience that is very sturdy at my sitting (25") and standing heights (41"). Even at the full ~50" height, I did not notice much wobble or rocking at all. The controller is a great, with 3 memory pre-sets for height and a timer to remind you to stand. The first few people I showed it to commented on how cool it was that the desk would softly stop at the pre-set heights, it makes an impression of solid quality. Finally, I must say how great the customer support was that kept me constantly informed on the status of my order. I received my legs much sooner than I was supposed to, but without the desk top. Patricia and the people at FlexSpot immediately contacted me (before I even reached out to them!) to resolve the situation right away! Great desk, great company! ...would recommend! ... show more

    • Solid Desk, Easy to Assemble

Ordered the FlexiSpot desk with the 55”x28” bamboo top. The base came one day and the top the next day. Packaging was top notch. The heavy steel base parts were packed solidly and tightly. I didn’t weigh the box, but I’d say it is a difficult lift for most people. Get a friend to help. The top is much bigger, but lighter and easier for one person to handle. The corners of the table are well protected with specially formed packing. There was absolutely no shipping damage. Not even a scratch. The top was pre-drilled for everything but the electronic modules. One could easily avoid using a drill at all by fastening the control box and the power supply (they call it an Adapter) to the bottom of the wood top with heavy duty mounting tape instead of screws. Assembly of the base was relatively easy. Instructions were not IKEA level, but they had clear illustrations and the parts are well identified. It went together fairly quickly using the instructions. One thing that could be made clearer is during assembly of the bottom support beam and bracket. Since the base is used for a variety of different top widths, they neglect to say anything about how wide the base should be. It’s adjustable. Just put it together the way they say. Complete the entire base assembly. The instructions should say this so you don’t worry about it. When you are ready to put the top on, lay the top down so the bottom part is up. Then lay the assembled base over the top. Line up one end with the holes on one end of the top. Loosely secure the base to that edge of the top with screws. Now, you can slide the other end of the base in or out as needed to align the base with the screws on the other end. Make sure to retighten the 4 screws shown in Step 1 that allow the base to telescope in or out. The desk is sturdy. My monitor doesn’t jiggle around when I type (I have a heavy touch developed over 20 years of manual typewriters and electromechanical teletype machines). It operates almost noiselessly and smoothly. I’m very happy with the purchase and hope to get many years service from it. ... show more
