I bought this unit it is worked well until it started leaking at the tank and controller. I contacted Amazon and was redirected to Liquagen aka durawater. I thought the leak was the large o-ring at the tank and controller. They sent me the wrong replacement o-rings. Honest mistake. It took several emails with pictures, phone calls, and messages but I got a hold of them and I let them know and they sent me the correct o-ring. I replaced the o-ring and the leak continued. I emailed and let them know. Weeks went on before there was a response. I was told it was the controller and redirected. Then told it was the tank. I asked them to get together to try and decide what was the issue. They finally said it was the tank and that it was under warranty and they would send me a replacement as long as I paid shipping, approx $90. At this point months had gone on, emails had been overlooked, no calls returned. I let them know I’ll pay for the shipping just let me know how to pay so I can get this resolved. Another month with no response. My patience was really being tested. I sent another email expressing my frustration with the lack of service, response time or no response at all. It’s been several more weeks. There has been no response. If you have an issue and get Gary or Tim, good luck on getting anything resolved. ... show more

    • Disappointed with missing parts
Received the unit, arranged for a plumber to come who is paid by the hour, and finds out a part is missing from the unit. Now I have to wait a week for a replacement, and pay additional for the plumber to come out again. Thanks a lot!

I wanted to preface first that I did not install this product myself. I had my buddy who’s a plumber do it due to him needing to do other work as well, but he said it was really easy to install. Long story short, the reason I got this was because of my HVAC and whole home humidifier going out in my house. Due to construction in my area and town not really testing the water, my water had doubled in hardness resulting in the home humidifier to clog up then shutting down my hvac. Getting this softener saved EVERYTHING!!! My plumber before installing told me that hard water can lead to equipment damage, hair loss, gunk in your sinks/showers and a lot of other issues. After installation I was told I wouldn’t see results for a few days, yet I immediately saw results within that day. The water didn’t smell anymore, my skin wasn’t as dry anymore after washing, and after a week or so, I stopped seeing all the gunk buildup. I highly recommend this product!!! ... show more

I combined this Fleck 5600 SXT Whole House Water Softener 48,000 Grain with a Spring WGB32B 3-Stage Whole House Water Filtration System, and my water is simply amazing now. Previously I had a softener I bought at Sears about 15 or 20 years ago. Pretty sure it had stopped working cause I was back to getting rust stains, and build up in the pipes. With this new one I can tell the pipes are getting clears, because the faucet strainers are now getting gummed up, and the the rust stains are clearing up too. My water only is a tiny bit rusty so a standard water softener usually handles it, but apparently no a 15 to 20 year old one. Best of all, even with the softener and the filter attached, my water pressure is not suffering at all. ... show more

The water softener is not working properly, water is not softened even after regeneration a couple of times. Their tech support was super slow and didn’t provide any support. Now the return window passed, I am left with a defective junk in my garage. Even if it was within the return window, think about the hassle of returning it. I would not recommend ... show more

    • Take note of any supplemental instruction inserts
Easy enough to install following instructions with one exception. Two sets of instructions were provided for setup and connecting the brine solution tank to the IX resin tank; one in the installation manual and the other in a supplemental instruction insert. Neither was totally accurate and after struggling for too long to figure it out I finally realized the insert was the correct one to follow, but even it missed an important step that eventually realized and than it went together easily. It could have been written so much better to make it easy to complete in under 5 min instead of the hour I spent trying to follow this part of the instructions exactly as written. Seems to be the best product on the market for the price. If your handy and can cut some PEX tubing (way better than PVC for this job IMO), cut a water pipe, attach some fittings, (sold separately) and watch a YouTube vid for head setup, this is your product. Overall a easy setup for a handy fella and you will love the product. Google what settings you should use in your area, that will help. ... show more
