It is a really good flute, but I think I need to push stronger for the note low b, c, and the cleaning cloth feathers are spilling too much. But genarally I loved this flute. It has a really good tone. I would recommend this flute for the people who are the flute players.

To be fair, I didn't pay much for this flute. It came well packaged. That being said, the tone is better in the upper register (though plays slightly sharp). The lower register is very airy and I'm not ruling out a pad or 2 leaking. Seeing as everything is aligned well, this would have to be the case. Perhaps some slight adjustments will also help, but the intonation is slightly off. I've been playing flute for over 30 years, so, having an experienced ear, I'll give it 4 stars. I bought this Flanger flute from Amazon Warehouse and it arrived looking cosmetically fine but had other problems. I'm a long time woodwind player including flute at maybe intermediate level. This flute had adjustment issues of some sort. I couldn't play below A on the lower octave. I'm no tech but it appeared that at least 2 keys were not sealing properly. It's too bad because open C# chromatically down to A sounded fine and the flute had the feel of a legitimate instrument. Had it been in proper adjustment it would have been a 4 star review but as I received it I'm giving it one star. I plan to return this flute. I would just say if you purchase one try to get it checked by someone who knows something about flutes before the return window closes if possible. I also purchased a Yamaha 222 student flute and a Mendini bargain brand flute both from Amazon and have posted video reviews for those. ... show more

    • Keys not sealing/ sticky pads

The sound is great, but the c foot/ b foot keys did not seal properly and the keys/ pads are not releasing properly. We are waiting for our Replacement and hoping it was a fluke as this had other good reviews. The return / exchange process is smooth sailing.

I love this flute. I had a student flute for several years and was never able to play anything below low A. This flute I was able to play low notes right away. If my daughter decides to play flute I will definitely be purchasing another for her.

Sound is decent for such a cheap flute. For beginners! I took out the plugs but that is a great feature. This way, you can take them out as you begin to learn. Recommend for middle schoolers just starting out, or for high schoolers. There are marching gloves in there, cheap but they would do. There is also a cloth and a wand for cleaning. The case is decent. Comes with a strap and a screwdriver ..which is super awesome. Don't be like young me and buy a flute for too much from a music store when Amazon can give you what you need for less. One negative; no lube. ... show more

My son's playing the flute and really into it so we bought him this one and he's proud of it for a starter flute. He likes the soft case. He wishes there was a second strap to wear it like a backpack.
