  • Inexpensive but decent quality; went together easily, but...
Size: 79" x 38" Color: Gray,White
I read a few reviews to get an idea of what lessons those who had already put it together learned so, it honestly went together and then up above my little outdoor bar pretty easily. I'll give some suggestions for the next person; it may look a little long but, I think the suggestions will help: 1) I did it by myself but it would've been a little easier and faster with two (as long as you work together well) people since having an extra set of hands helps hold stuff. It took about an hour and a half total of actual work but probably more like two hours of being out there. 2) Clear yourself a big, flat work area. Do it when it isn't windy. 3) The film on the panels is just to protect it while shipping. IF you're careful about not scratching it up, peel the film off before you put the awning together. It's kind of a pain to get it off if you wait until it's all put together. 4) Prep the edges of the panels before you try to slide them in the clear plastic connector. I did one without prepping it and it took ten minutes of carefully and forcefully sliding the panel in. Get a piece of wax paper and use it like sandpaper along the edges of the panels and in the groove of the long, clear plastic connector. After prepping for two minutes, it literally took two more minutes total to slide the other three panels in place. So, use wax paper. 5) use a few loops of masking tape masking tape to hold pieces together while you work on it. That was great advice I read a couple of places. 6) the self piercing screws that come with it are pretty crappy. You should probably predrill the holes with a tiny sharp bit if you're going to use them because they're low quality and WON'T easily self pierce. I happened to have a box of #8, 9/16 self-piercing lath screws and I used them. In fact, I used a bunch of them either side of the middle of each of the support struts and it REALLY stiffened the whole thing. Maybe that's good but, maybe it's not good in a wind since it won't flex much. We'll see. 7) the expansion bolts supplied with it have VERY limited application. They'll work through wood siding and/or sheathing into a hollow space but, that's about it. I used Head-Lok 2-7/8 screws to VERY securely fasten it to my fascia. You could also use 1/4 bolts, washers, and nuts through a predrilled hole if the backside of whatever you're attaching to is accessible. 8) whether you're working by yourself or with a helper, it's REALLY easy to get level and easy to hold in place if you use a ledger. This was three minutes of prep well spent. I already had screws and a driver out anyway AND there was a scrap 2x4 sitting there so, I screwed it in place and level, set the bottom edge of the awning struts on it, drove a Head-Lok into the top hole of the middle strut, made sure it looked in place, drove the other Head-Lok screws through the other holes in all the support struts, took the two screws out of ledger board and took it and, BAM. Finished. ... show more

  • 2-person install with a trick.
Size: 79" x 38" Color: Black
Good product. Must install with 2 (or more) people, especially if daisy-chaining as I did (alone). Product uses expanding anchors (usu for concrete but also work with wood). Here’s the trick. When drilling the holes for the anchors, also drill out the hole in the product, then insert the booth/anchor through the product into the wall (as opposed to inserting into the wall,,removing the bolt from the anchor, and then inserting only the bolt through the product). Either way works out the same, but the way I suggest avoids losing the anchor head in the wall and trying to matchup the product on an anchor sticking out from the wall (anchors cannot be flush with the wall..they MUST stick out, flush with inside of the product hole, otherwise the bolt cannot reach the anchor head). Carefully assemble on ground, then measure and pre drill, then lift and bolt (with a friend). Maybe install a bit lower than I did (I was trying to not block the view too much…just the noontime sun that heads my windows and room). As pictured is a 3 panel combined with a 2 panel (which yield 1 extra arm and set of hardware to keep as a spare). ... show more

  • Good value - installed normally - assembly was a puzzle
Size: 39" x 38" Color: Brown Canopy/Black Bracket
The instructions left a lot to be desired. You have to assemble the awning in a particular order which was not described. Some of the installation assumed you were installing into concrete.

  • Well worth the time and money. Read on for helpful tips.
Size: 39" x 32" Color: White
The media could not be loaded. I needed an awning over the side garage door to limit rain and didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars at Lowes or HD. Found this on Amazon for far less and glad I did. It was fairly easy to assemble with the instructions provided. (Photos) Only frustrating part was that the H Bar was not long enough and even it were it did not fit into bracket. So there is a small gap on either side. (Photo) Because of the location and infrequent use of this door it matters little to us. But had it been front of home or customer facing at a business I would have returned it. I think it looks good and was very light weight making it easy to handle. My girlfriend and I assembled in the garage with help of 4 y/o and no one was injured or scolded. So consider that as proof of ease of assembly. Just be patient. Once assembled we held in place above door and held level across underside before marking drill holes with Sharpie. Previous reviewer literally made me laugh out loud with “hardware is a mystery” because I also was like wtf? Google revealed it was an expansion bolt for concrete. Just a little different design than what you would find in big box store. So kudos to seller for supplying it. May want to consider written instructions to explain that because they apparently should not be used anywhere other than concrete. Which is why we decided to use lag bolts as previous reviewer suggested. Thank you for that. Otherwise I might have tried those things and ended up disappointed. We drilled starter holes where Sharpie marked the spot. I was able to use cordless drill with socket to drive in bolts on bottom and used socket wrench for the top. (Drill does not fit up there.) Overall very pleased with the look and seemingly sturdy build of this awning. Fix that H Bar issue and throw in a few lag bolts for those of us who still live in stick frame houses and you will have yourself a 5 star product. *Ran a piece of electrical tape across sides of plastic pieces marked A on instructions. This was suggested by a fella on YouTube to help make fit more snug and keep rain out. He was right. ... show more

  • Mounting challenge.
Size: 39" x 32" Color: White
The awning will have to be modified as the MH doesn't have the structure a house does.
