Purchased it for tight places. The first one I purchased I thought it was defective since there was a piece of metal in the chain part of the hoist which jammed me in my finger. I returned it. The second one was the same way. The manual doesn't state what it is for. I tested it with about 425ibs of weight and it worked well, unfortunately the brake didn't work correctly when I tried to lower the weight so Im returning it. Due to the short handle, I don't think you will be able to raise more than 450 to 475ibs without a handle extension. ... show more

Perfect for jobs where heavy lifting capacity isn't needed. Sometimes a heavier duty hoist gets in the way on smaller jobs this hoist is so much handier to use. It's been a couple months of use and I am glad that I got this hoist. They gave us similar ones at the mill I worked in. I imagine they spent quadruple the price of this hoist. Great little inexpensive puller. The only problem is If you pull hard on it, it is hard break loose. Probably pulled harder than I should have.
