I first saw these garden scissors at Home Depot years ago, but they were so popular, they'd sell out quickly. When I saw these, I ordered two! :) They last for years and are terrific for cutting most flower stems, even the woody ones like hydrangea and roses. I keep these in the house too, as they are perfect for opening packages, cutting cardboard & cardstock. I know they are supposed to be used in the garden and don't get me wrong they are great there, but I have been using them mostly to cut up cardboard. We are required to have our cardboard in certain sizes for recycling and this is perfect for that. I hate using box cutters. I have also used to build things with cardboard - crafting. I have had this brand of garden scissors before and somehow lost them, likely by throwing them out with the trimmings. The new ones are a weaker, smaller replacement. I have not put them to the "test" as of yet. But because the blades are not as long or as thick as my originals, I am not very hopeful ... show more

I love these scissors but don't use them for gardening. My first pair I have had for about 8 years. I use them for household stuff because they are so sturdy. Main thing I use them for is opening plastic packages that are really difficult to open. Perfect for this!
